My player identified it as MPEG-4 AVC, so I updated the database. It is indeed a single-layer disc, which isn't a big deal considering there's less than 2 hours of video content total.

Good review; I actually backscrolled after some clever comment to see who wrote it.

Did you verify that it has English subtitles? Because no other release does and I remember missing some lines when I first watched it. And not the Scandinavian subs that somebody claimed? (I think they just duped another release.)

Yep, it does indeed have English subtitles (which Oscilloscope's DVD also offered).

And thanks for your comments! Always nice to get feedback.

Just enjoyed my copy today. Holds up really well, easily one of the crown jewels of my Oscilloscope collection.

I love being a Circle of Trust Member.

Dang! Didn't realize this actually got a North America release! And of course now it's expensive on Amazon.

I can't even find it on Amazon. But at least the regular version still appears to be available directly from Oscilloscope, though it is rather expensive.

There are basically two options to get it cheaper: wait for Oscilloscope's Black Friday sale a long time from now, or explore their catalogue and decide if you want to become a Circle of Trust member, which provides you with their next 10 releases (with some wiggle room; if you want a prior title or want to skip a certain title, that's fine) for $100, and a personal discount code that gets you 50% off the rest of their back catalog. If you find that you like the films they release, it's worth it, especially since they can be expensive without it.

Man, that reminds me, I still need to get rid of the German bluray I have. I got the Oscilloscope too.

Does anyone know if that version is region A friendly too? Mine is sealed and I'd rather not open it just to test it.

I blind-bought this during Oscilloscope’s last sale and just now got around the watching it. Man, what a great watch! Kinda wish I hadn’t waited so long to pull it out of the backlog pile.

They’re not that similar in execution, but it reminded of the movie Timecrimes (which really needs a Blu Ray release), just in how it told a clever science fiction story on an extremely limited budget with minimal locations and characters.

Default Oscilloscope Blu-ray of Coherence

Regarding the new commentary, does it offer much new insight to the original one with the director and the two actors? In a nutshell, what might that be? Would buying the Oscilloscope dvd be enough? Does any foreign bluray offer the two commentaries?

Saw this many years ago and never picked this up until now thanks to the 4/20 coupon code. Definitely excited to watch it again!

Is anyone able to confirm the Oscilloscope Laboratories release is region free? Cheers

edit-

sorry I'm kinda new around here.. I see on https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Coher...lu-ray/288825/ it says 'Playback
2K Blu-ray: Region free', so I guess that confirms it?
