I can see the difference between both movies by just recalling them in my mind. Casino Royale was a brand new movie when it was released on Blu-ray Disc, and they would be able to make it look absolutely the best it can because of all of the resources they have.

Anchor Bay isn't a big studio, it's somewhere of a middle-level distributor. Their resources are limited compared to the major distributors'.

that's an extremely unfair comparison. if you were to watch both of these films in the theater the PQ of Casino Royale would blow the doors off Halloween

Default yall blind

I seen it on VHS when i was a kid.. it was scary to my mom.

I own it on DVD, it was clean with deep rich color with the help of THX.

I owned it on blu-ray and looks like my first time watching halloween cause there are details that i couldnt see on DVD and VHS version.. and the sound quality sound better and what.... Only one scene scare the hell out of me for the first time when the window was crack by Dr Loomis when he got scare too.. i start having deep heartbeat like i was havin heart attack cause i got it on PCM.

For a movie this old, your not going to see a better transfer. I thought the PQ was amazing. The theater version i seen wasnt even as good as my blu ray version.

For any halloween fan, its more than impressive.

Hey,

I know I already said it twice,.. but Halloween on Blu Ray is on sale for $10.99 at JRMusic right now. (Have to keep mentioning that. Lots of people may be like me and have a fondness for the movie but not for MSRP.)

I ordered my copy today.

I actually rented the standard version to play in my PS3 as Block Buster did not get a Blu Ray copy....I didn't think it looked that bad maybe the Blu Ray Disc enhanced it too much.....I generally find Blu Ray Movies not all that overwhelming but in this standard DVD upscale I thought it was looking pretty good....weird...I think future BRD's will be better as the Film makers should adapt to the new HD era

I think part of the problem is that the Halloween Blu-ray got 4 and 5 star reviews for picture quality, and people were expecting it to look like the remaster of The Fifth Element or something. It doesn't.

it looks very good FOR AN OLD, LOW BUDGET PICTURE. On a smaller screen size it probably looks better, but blow it up on a 65" 1080p screen and it starts to look its age, soft in places and grainy in others, not terrible but nothing like 5 star PQ either. A for effort, maybe B- for absolute PQ.

Isn't the early beginning of mass-market adoption great? It's awesome when people have no understanding of what they're buying.
