Hey,

Just ordered this for $10.99 from JRMusic via a link in the hot deals forum.

Last time I saw it was on VHS. (Never saw that film in the theater.) I think I'll be glad to have it.

What?! Halloween looked great. Looks pretty much like a movie that was released recently rather than 1978.

Hey,

My guess (having not seen it yet) is that the Blu Ray represents the best presentation of the film on home video to date. Even the "bad" Blu Rays usually represent the best version of the film available on Home Video in my experience.

Since it's on sale currently for $10.99 on Blu Ray,.. I would suggest anyone with interest in the film should be picking it up.

dlshelt,

Just curious,.. you say you're a Halloween fan. Which version of this film do you recommend? I've seen it only on VHS but I'm curious about your favorite way to watch it.

Wait... are we talking about the masterpiece from John Carpenter or the crap-fest from Rob Zombie?

It looks great! The only real negative about it is that it doesn't include as much of the blue-tint of the original so while the picture is amazingly clear and detailed, it looks more like nice weather (during the spring or summer -- which it really was when they filmed) rather than colder, dreary Oct. Some didn't like that but the picture was much more detailed and clear because of that. Anyway, I thought it looked fantastic and it's hard to believe it's an older movie.

Don't agree, not even remotely but oh well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion on it.

For it to be the original "Halloween", it thought it looked awesome! I originally hesitated to purchase after some of the reviews, but thanks to some of our members I decided to buy it thinking that it would be okay, so I get home and start watching it and this transfer is "significantly" better than any other transfer out there. I saw detail that I never saw on VHS or DVD. I felt like I was watching it for the 1st time and I've watched this movie alot since 1984.
