Critics have been nothing but idiots for years now, the fact that people look to most of them as "serious tools"/litmus test for movies is frankly embarrassing.
That's called, anecdotal evidence. Ya found one in 78,099,876,789,890 reviews. It doesn't prove anything and would be thrown out in court.

Elijah Wood has had it with the personal attacks dealt out to actors by movie critics.

Well, some movie critics, at least.

The ‘Lord of the Rings’ star was asked in an interview with the Comic Book Resources website about his experiences with criticism, recalling a particularly scathing notice he received from the late Roger Ebert, who slated the 1994 Rob Reiner comedy 'North’, made when Wood was just 14.

Yeah, personal attacks should NOT be a thing.

However, all art, no matter WHAT it is (books, paintings, music, movies, TV shows, documentaries, video games ETC), should definitely be judged and criticized the moment it's given to the public. That's life. That's art. Criticism of the WORK is not only fair, but expected.

Even people like Bill Maher and Joe Rogan ADD to that and claim male and female MODELS who put their body out there are subject to criticism. Positive and negative. We don't live in a "positive comments only" world. This isn't little league with 7 year olds

Bruh, that WAS the standard for years. Critics have done nothing but drag an entire genre (Horror) for years just because of BS reasons.

All of them jumped on the "HORROR IS HORRIBLE" bangwagon ever since the 80's and a lot of them refuse to get off it even now.

So yes, critics are full of themselves. Always have been.

Liked it. A fun action rom com with a likeable cast. Wasn't expecting those cameos 😆

I made it about 15 minutes before I had to turn this off. There is no chemistry here between the two stars. It would have been better to keep Scarlett and replace Chris.

I just watched it, it was okay. Ana de Armas rocked every scene, and the Dialogue were funny, but there was some bad green screens and some bad useless Camoes.
The Action was good but in the end I would probably would never watch this movie again, but for watching one time it was okay.

Saw it today.

A perfectly serviceable action flick. Nothing more.

Script can get a bit creaky with some cringe humor, but Evans and Armas give it their all.

Nothing groundbreaking or at the level of Hard Boiled, but it's not the utter disaster people say it is.

(Side note, but it's funny how people ***** and moan about "WHERE ARE MUH FILMS FOCUSING ON MUH MOVII STAHRS??? IM TIRED OF FRANCHISES!" And then when one does come along, they continue to ***** about it and tear it to pieces..... Never change you idio- I mean "film bros")

7/10

I happened to receive a 3-month subscription to Apple TV from Target, so I've been watching a few movies/shows that I otherwise wouldn't be able to see. "Ghosted" is one that I'm really glad I didn't pay money to see in a theater. Really bad dialogue. The reveal of Ana de Armas' secret life comes too early, with the movie switching from romantic comedy into shootouts/violence mode. (I'm thinking there could've been further confusion between the main characters after Evans lands in London, before the reveal.) While Evans is not a "great" actor, he's been OK in a few films; he was impressively comical as the bad guy in "The Gray Man," but he's totally charmless here. To be fair, I can't think of any actor who could've pulled off this badly written part. Likewise, Ana has been alluring and very appealing in several films, but she, too, is done in by the awful script.

I give it 1/5.

So you basically just watched the romcom bit of it, before it turned into an action flick?

Ah well, at least you gave it a chance...

Really enjoyed this myself. Thought the leads were both great, there's a couple of proper laugh out loud moments. some fun cameos, a solid supporting cast, & most of the action stuff was well put together. Plus, the scene where they finally play The Beatles' Taxman?

Some of the CGI was a bit duff, but sadly I've come to expect that in streaming movies these days.

8/10 from me.

Pity it's never likely to get a disc release. I'd happily pick up a copy.

No wonder Hollywood doesn't care about the quality of it's product. If a piece of shit like this can become the most streamed thing on a platform then where's the incentive to even try to make something good?

Chris Evans made a great Captain America but he doesn't have the chops for this. I may resume it later but it will be awhile.
