Uncharted 4 sucks. Lost Legacy is the best Uncharted. Surprised me.

Didn't hammer the characterization so hard at the expense of the adventure, like Uncharted 4, probably thanks to having different directors. The climax is the best setpiece in the whole series, in my opinion. There's more going on than in the similar one in Uncharted 2. Helps the sense of satisfaction and reward that it is at the end. It genuinely excited me. I found the puzzles better than in previous games, and the shooting mechanics are the best they've ever been. Another plus for dropping all the journals. Way overdone is gaming. Lazy way to tell a story, and rather boring. Funny that none of them degraded away in the tropics over hundreds of years.

Hmm, Lost Legacy was fun but I definitely liked U4 a lot. It's my favorite Uncharted.

I liked Uncharted 4 and The Lost Legacy. The problem with 4, for me was that it lacked a lot of the magical mythos and lore of past iterations, for example, 1 was the search for El Dorado, 2. Shambala and Tibet, and 3. Sir Francis Drake's ring and the deserts etc...

The multiplayer was also changed for the worse with downings and being unable to pick up special weapons just in boxes, and other people's guns when they're dead. I just hope this collection at least provides new MP maps.

Definitely put me in the camp of liking Lost Legacy more than 4. I wouldn't go so far as to say 4 sucked. However I still think introducing a long lost brother in the 4th act of a series is clumsy story telling and unnecessary and I thought 4 was about 10 hours too long. I just really liked the tighter, more focused story in Lost Legacy and the dynamic between Nadine and Chloe was a refreshing change of pace. I also thought the set pieces in Lost Legacy were more interesting and exciting.

What bugs me is that story aside, both Uncharted 4 and Lost Legacy had gorgeous scenery, which was not at all taken advantage of for multiplayer. I can still see in my head locations perfect for MP, but ND just stopped providing updates.

I would love it if they Chloe and Nadine got another game at some point since Nathan's story is over and it'd be another way to get yet another Uncharted game out there.

As for the long lost brother, while it was an excuse to get Troy Baker into the series and that's never a bad thing, it's still one of the reasons why I didn't like the game as much as I had hoped to. Mainly because....

It was so out of the blue, it makes me wonder if that was ever going to happen if Amy Hennig wasn't forced out of Naughty Dog and the game getting basically re-written. I know that technically was never proven, and that's not really a story for this thread, but I tend to believe it based on Uncharted 4's story and other things. I liked how it wrapped up Nate and Elena's story, but otherwise I was hoping for more. It's still better than 3, but The Lost Legacy was more a breath of fresh air (and free from Neil Druckmann).

My 2 pennies: Lost Legacy is leaps and bounds better than A Thief's End. UC4 is a boring, slow-paced slog which is painful on replays. I could never decide what is worse out of UC3 or 4.

They just wanted to get away from the adventuring-for-treasure vibe and more into Nathan's inner turmoil. Effectively an emotional journey of discovery to suit the modern times.

And by doing so, it lost what made Uncharted great. Lost Legacy recaptured that so much better.

You mean Neil Druckmann showing us that he could fit right in on The CW, before coming full circle with his heavy handed and forceful storytelling in The Last of Us 2?

Uncharted 4 wasn't quite on that level, and I did still enjoy the game, but I also believe that it would have been much better on the story front if Amy Hennig was allowed to stay and her script wasn't scrapped. Even though I will always consider 3 to be the weakest game of the bunch, it still had a pretty good story that was told well. 4 is obviously good to great on the gameplay and technical fronts, but the story will always be the weak point for me.

Well I emotionally discovered that I was effectively disappointed in the end result. Fortunately, I've got the Collection (one would hope Golden Abyss gets remade at some point, and I'd actually take a further enhanced/remade original trilogy)

Default The collection might not have multiplayer

https://www.playstationlifestyle.net...s-multiplayer/

Quote:
Just before the holiday weekend, the Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rated the September-announced Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection for the PlayStation 5 and PC. As spotted by Video Games Chronicle, the rating summary suggests that the collection doesn’t include Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s multiplayer component.

“No interactive elements,” reads a description provided by the ESRB, which awarded the title a Teen rating for blood, language, violence, and use of alcohol and tobacco.

Sony has yet to provide more information about Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection beyond the initial announcement. The title also includes standalone expansion, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy.
Well, I wouldn't be surprised if this were true, however, I do hope it's not. That said, I'm not likely to pick it up immediately anyway, if at all.

Here's a look at the new "Features"

Quote:
Graphics
First off, graphic updates. Here’s a look at the options players can select from:

Fidelity Mode – For those of you who have a 4K display and want super sharp resolution above all else to enjoy the stunning environments and details the Uncharted series is known for, select Fidelity Mode and play in native 4K resolution with a 30fps target framerate.
Performance Mode – We carried over the high framerate PS4 patch with Performance Mode, which targets a 60fps frame rate.
Performance+ Mode – If you’re all about the smoothest gameplay possible and don’t mind a resolution drop, try out our first ever Performance+ Mode which targets 120fps* at a 1080p resolution.

Thanks to the power of the PS5 console, the load time is near instant so you can jump into the action faster than Nate or Chloe can draw their weapons (which, if you’ve seen Chloe take on a band of mercenaries before, is pretty fast). Enjoy Spatial 3D Audio* and know where the shots are coming from and immerse yourself in the ambience of the locations across both games. With the DualSense wireless controller’s haptic feedback and adaptive triggers, we’ve fine-tuned the rumble and resistance here: feeling the 4×4 vehicles roll along in your hands or landing a punch and then rope swinging to safety has never been so rewarding.
Oh and one more interesting tidbit - As rumoured.

Quote:
Please note that the multiplayer mode included in Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and Uncharted: The Lost Legacy will not be a part of this new collection.

Looks like it will be more motivating to go for the Platinum for U4 w/o the multiplayer trophies. Nicely done devs

Players who purchased Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, or Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End & Uncharted: The Lost Legacy Digital Bundle have the option to pay $10/€10 to upgrade to Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Digital Version. The upgrade will be available starting at launch on January 28, 2022.

Owners of PS4 disc copies must insert them into the PS5 every time they want to download or play the PS5 digital versions. PS4 game disc owners who buy the PS5 Digital Edition disc-free console will not be able to get the PS5 version for the discounted price.

PlayStation Plus members who claimed Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End via their PlayStation Plus subscription are not eligible for the $10/€10 digital PS5 upgrade.
So if you had purchased Uncharted 4 or Lost Legacy digitally for $10 you can then upgrade for another $10? That's a good deal. Kicking myself for not picking up Lost Legacy when it's been on sale recently.

The blog post says “we carried over the high framerate PS4 patch”…but both games only run at 30FPS on PS4.

I do think its ridiculous this isn’t 4K 60.

They obviously didn't do as much as they'd like us to pay and believe.
