I think I might be seeing this tonight. There's another AMC "Screen Unseen" screening tonight, and judging by the timing and the R rating, I suspect it's Silent Night.
EDIT: nevermind. It was American Fiction. Last edited by cinemaphile; 11-28-2023 at 01:39 AM. |

The trailer looks action packed and gives the hero a serious reason to be angry for revenge to stop further mayhem, and it looks like the hero really prepares for his battle, but I didn't see any martial arts, so I'm thinking he's not going to be skilled like John Wick or Liam Neeson's Bryan Mills (Taken series). Hopefully this is as entertaining as Run All Night, with Joel Kinnaman (and Neeson too as his father).
Joel Kinnaman stars in Run All Silent Night. Two action movies with Night in the title. |

Went to my local AMC to see Silent Night and I had one of the worst theater going experiences of my life. The audience was talking through all the trailers except for the Bob Marley one. Then the film starts and the talking goes down a little. Then someone says "Is this a ****ing silent movie?" The film keeps going and the talking mostly dies down but there is this one woman who seems to be offended by the fact that a white man is hunting down people of color (she said something else that I will not repeat) Then, as the film is getting to the action (the scene in the dude's garage), the talking ramps up.
"Did you see that?" "Oh my God. That was so ****ing great." "Why does it have to be a white person." And so on. I got up and yelled at the entire theater. "Why are you mother****ers talking through the entire film? "No one cares about what you have to say." "Yes, we saw it because it just ****ing happened." Then one guy said "What did you say mother****er?" I replied with "Oh. You must be deaf. No wonder you are talking so loud." Why don't I sign it for you." I then flipped them all off and walked out of the theater. I was livid. I don't know why people will pay upwards of $20 to see a film and talk through it. I don't talk. I never said a word through the entire screening until I went off on them. I walked over to an employee and asked to speak to a manager. The manager came over and while I was talking to her, the guy I yelled at the most walked out of the theater. The manager said she was going to go into the theater and tell everyone to shut the **** up. I told her that I didn't feel safe going back into the theater because that guy is coming after me. I pointed to the dude and she told me that they have had problems with him in the past. I don't know why they still let him but whatever. She asked if I had told him off and I said "yes". She asked me if I wanted to come back another day and I also said "yes" She gave me a bunch of free passes and I left. She made sure to watch me leave so there was an incident. John Woo is one of my favorite directors and this was one of my most anticipated films of 2023. I should have known to not go tonight and wait until tomorrow. That was stupid of me to think that there wouldn't be anyone talking. I am done with this theater. Of the last six movies I have seen in theater, only two of them had no one talking: A Nightmare Before Christmas and It's a Wonderful Knife and that's because I was the only person in theater for both of them. I am tired of people being *******s just because they can. I wish that theaters took talking and other disruptions more seriously because that theater lost one of their best customers. |
