I know… at some point I’m going to have to say “enough” when it comes to upgrading really great Blus of black and white movies to 4k.

Then again, with this and Some Like it Hot, might be able to recoup most of the original cost by selling on eBay since Criterion and Arrow releases seem to hold their value if you buy them originally on sale.

I'm in the same boat, and I might buy this when Kino includes it in a sale in about a year. That Arrow release is just really nice.

The McBride commentary and having mono as good as the Laserdisc release would make this a must buy.
However it's The Apartment which means it's a must buy regardless. Even for those of us who have owned practically every release so far.

Besides the new Joseph McBride commentary, we know nothing of the extras yet. The archival MGM-produced extras are probably a guarantee.

Extras up on Kino's site. Amazing, there's going to be a separate BD release too. Does that mean the Arrow release is going OOP? Usually Kino has only secured 4K rights with these MGM titles.

I wouldn't be too surprised if that was the case as most of Arrow's other MGM titles from this period have gone OOP ("The Big Knife", "A Fish Called Wanda", "Killer Klowns from Outer Space", "Ronin", and "Terror in a Texas Town").
