That is already factored into the total they need to make. When box-office analysts say a movie needs to make $500M to break even, they mean $500M box office, not $500M take home for the studio.

Yeah but we're strictly talking about box-office...but yes between the toys, apparel, accessories, and streaming rights this thing is a cash cow for WB.

We all know this already. You seem to be overlooking the point that the theater owner's cut is already being accounted for in the reported break even points of films.

Example: Random movie

-Film budget: $100M
-Advertising and releasing: another $100M
-Total Cost for studio: $200M
-Theater owners keep about half the box office.
-So movie business reporters announce the movie has to make $400M at the box-office in order to break even. This does not mean the studio has to take home $400M. It means the movie has to make $400M at the box-office in order for the studio the make their needed $200M
