I'm all for $10 movies but I live in a small suburb only 10,000 people so I have to drive 30 minutes to the big box places etc.

I'm surprised that there are so many of you who find BD's at your pawn shop. I don't think the owner of my local one will even know what they are.

I have never even seen a pawn shop, nevermind gone into one. Everyone I have seen on TV are places for buying guns with scratched off serial numbers.

I agree, I have one of those upscaling Toshiba DVD players, the HD-A2... and I have never purchased ANY NEW media for it, I did pick up a used serenity and a used transformers from half.com, but I think checking out pawn shops may be the way to go!

FWIW, I may have picked up used media for that "other" format, but all my blu disks were purchased new

My pawn shop is horrible, all they have are like VHS, even those are like 10$ each. Pawn shops are over-priced in my opinion. Wish there was a better one near here

Just an FYI guys: I'm seeing more and more Blus in my local pawn shops for around $10. Many are still sealed (i know many people think they are stolen but i dont have a problem buying from here) or if they are open are in perfect condition. I try to hit a few local shops every week to check out the selection.

At this one place, the guy monitors ebay and prices accordingly. At most pawn shops you can talk them down a bit and get some deals.

I've seen Half.com member names such as "CashPawnusa" or what-not.... so figured pawn shops would have them locally if I wanted to go check...... but considering the neighborhoods pawn shops are usually located in.... I wouldn't park my car in front of one, let-alone go in.

For the most part, I agree with you. However, I found a pawn shop in a small town while I was driving through. No BD's, but still interesting to walk through.

I check all of the pawn shops about once a month to see if I can cross anything out of my wishlist. Prices are extremely good, like 10-12 dollars apeice. Can't beat that.

I worked in what you guys could call a pawn shop (buying used stuff and reselling it at much higher a pricing), and sadly I can say that it was one of those where they would check the prices for items online and add a bigger price to sell in their shop.

I guess the mentality is as diverse as the number of stores there are, but prices in pawn shops here are as bad as in any other new BD retailer.

i think this is brilliant for people who got into the BD format alittle late like i did. Every little penny counts these days and with prices at a standstill on alot of titles then why not build up the collection until you've got a nice stash and then be able to start purchasing new stuff and especially pricy TV series like True Blood or specials like Band of Brothers. Personally i only have 1 used blu in my collection Spiderman 3 which i paid $15 for instead of the 39.99 asking price Best Buy/Future Shop/WalMart are asking for. Also the fact that pawn shops are even taking blu's says something about the format. That it's really coming into fruition and people want them. I went to mine a couple days ago to get a ps3 game and they only had 4 BDs left out of the 35 or so they had a week ago

I agree. Where I live there lots of pawn shops and they all want to sell used blu's at MSRP. I just don't understand their thinking.
