Samsung P1400 @ Pawn Shop... Should I get it?

I was at a local pawn shop looking for some PS3 games and I saw they had a P1400 for $200. I remember this model was riddled with problems earlier on, do the problems still exist? Is this a good deal?

You remember wrong. The 1200 had all the problems. I had a 1400 and never had a problem with it all the way to FW 1.7. It was good for me. It's your call.

I wouldnt spend a dime over 99 for a 1400.

The 1400 is a nice player, but $200 used and from a pawn shop is too much. I would pay $150 tops.

I agree, just think how much the person probably got for it. $50 to $75.

I bought mine at a pawn shop and had the same worries(reading a lot of negative reviews on the net). Paid 250 with the original resit (3 months old).Usually pawnshops give a 1 month guarantee so you can play around with it and if not satisfied you just bring it back.Ive had no problems so far with movie's(with new firmware) and i like the player very much. Pawnshops are a Business. Usually when someone pawns something their desperate and they sell for a low price(80-100 dollars.)I can't see a pawnshop sell there stuff only to make 10,20 bucks.That would be nice but that's the business there in.I think $200 is a fair price.Good luck(Anything used should roughly be 50% off from retail price)
