This feels like one of those childhood favorites but I think I was almost 21 when this was released. I remember sneaking around the theaters and watched this and The Devil’s Advocate the same night. Hopefully that one gets a UHD as well. Anyways, this was always playing at my home. It was the first movie I got a second vhs player for and recorded so that I wouldn’t have to rent it every day. Love that Summer Breeze cover by Type O Negative to kick things off. Lots of fond memories from this movie!

Yes! One of my most wished for 4K titles! I adore this film.
I was sort of hoping it would get a deluxe treatment from Arrow, but I’m thrilled to be getting it at all. Hope at least the second film gets a physical release sometime, but great to see it’ll be hitting digital platforms with the new scan! Great announcement!

Always thought it was a prime candidate for a boutique label as it's always had a cult following. I do not have this title in my collection so the 4K will be a nice addition. Can't believe it's been 25 years.

Really looking forward to revisiting this film.

Ohhh sneaky sneaky timing with the announcement! We watch this movie every July 4th along with Summer of Sam and Jaws. Too bad they didn't get it out this week instead of announcing it this week. Still stoked to get it, and like others I really hope they do the sequel (no it's not as good but we still watch both back to back when we watch them) and Urban Legends, which if things work how they do for me since I literally just bought that on blu ray this month it'll be announced at some point soon.

Interesting to see that Sony is finally embracing adding Dolby Vision, new extras, all audios to new to 4K releases too, not just limiting all of those to super limited edition reissues. Here's hoping at some point Sony will reissue the DV discs in standard editions that aren't limited.

See several release announcements on new to 4K or LE titles that I like.
Laugh at Dallywhitty's posts that are already in each thread
Find my old Blu-rays of each of these titles and take pictures of them
List them on ebay
Look for best price on new announcements online & pre-order
Go to mailbox and get new 4K's and Blu-rays that came in.
Wait for wife to get home and lie to her when she starts snooping around blu-ray rack looking for new purchases.

Yes Cruel Intentions, I hope Sony is planning on that since the blu ray has long been OOP. That was my first dvd purchase back in ‘99. When dvd’s and dvd players was selling like hot cakes. It was also when studios had that damn security tape on all sides of dvd cases. It took awhile before they finally did away with that crap. Hopefully Sony will keep the ball rolling on 4K releases of their 80s -90s catalog
