Man, you don't know what you're missing.... I hear "the other movie" is great!!! hah! strange that a video store would decide to carry Blue, but only have two movies!!!!! Maybe they're testing the demand.... what is the other movie? a family film?

I'll buy only if I saw the movie and liked it or really wanted to see it when it was out and never got to. But for example this week movies such as Jesse James or The Brave One I'm not too sure if I'm going to like them or if they even have re-watch value so I just rented them. They both just shipped from Netflix this morning, which I can't complain about lately

I don't even remember what is that other movie. But In Finland stores are not in HD yet. That's why my creditcard is crying to stop using Amazon and other online shops. I have buyed only 58 BD movies and 18 BD games.

But not to worry, Shakira's BluRay is all I need Her pretty nose is SOOO Amazing

Your right, save that $6-7 bucks... For some reason my local Blockbuster wants $5 bucks for a new movie.. INSANE! That is half the price of a Amazon BOGO... If I don't like it, I could always sell it eBay it for a little more and not be out of anything.. Good thing I like pretty much every blind buy I have made so far.. F-BB

i'll buy when its $10/movie...why rent at $5/movie at BB, plus Netflix drove me nuts with delayed delivery.

I buy Blu-ray discs and DVDs of movies that I enjoy and want to see again in the future. I also supplement that by renting Blu-ray discs through Netflix, since it's very inexpensive. This works well for me, because I tend to by movies more than I rent, and I don't have to worry about late fees.

I wouldn't do one solely over the other, but renting BDs at $7 a pop or whatever someone said earlier is pretty ridiculous.

I rent through Netflix so it's not any more expensive renting BD than renting DVD. Actually I prefer to rent over owning. I hope to not go over owning 30 BD over the lifetime of the format.

Stopped renting 3 years ago. Got tired of late fees caused by clerks who didn't enter the returned rental into the system in time. Also didn't like clerks making a commentary on every damn movie I rented. Haven't tried Netflix but Id rather own BDs anyway.

I buy movies, I just don't like how you have a set date to return them, sometimes you just simply don't have the time to watch them right away so you are just giving money away to whoever you are renting from. By the way I went money happy and went shopping last Friday and I came home with Pixar shorts, AC/DC Live at Donnington, 3:10 to Yuma, Life of Brian & Led Zeppelin: The song remains the same!

Aren't blu-ray movies like $5 at blockbuster? Besides the cheapest/efficient way to rent is still through monthly plans. $30/month for 2 at a time plus 2 by mail, you can easily average 16 and more movies per month. That's still less than $2 per movie, compared to $15-$35 per bought title.

When I had blockbuster when it was $21 for the same plan, I used to laugh seeing couples at blockbuster spending as much on one transaction!
