I saw the film before I even knew what periods were and I was so confused by the shower scene. I legit thought Carrie had been cursed by God, lmao.

Saw this for a first viewing at an indie theater like three years ago and thought it was an instant classic. A lot of hyped "must see" movies from years past I go in with ridiculous expectations to the point where I may not immediately love them since there's already years of bias that they're essential movies that you basically must enjoy. But this one I was really digging. I'm pretty sure one of the previous blu releases was playing and it looked pretty solid.

Outstanding movie but man, this onslaught of releases is insane. Christmas has been cancelled this year. I have to buy movies.

I actually saw this movie at a drive-in. I've loved it since. Brian DePalma really proved what a skilled director he is and Sissy Spaceks performance is Oscar worthy.

Gonna hold out to see if Arrow releases this in the UK. So excited we're finally getting this one though, but my wallet is crying right now.

I hope this ends up as another Candyman situation as far as encodes go (not scratches!).

Really great this is getting a UHD (and man, what a year for De Palma on the format!) but I might just hold out for the eventual Arrow 4K. Tempting though, as this is one of my absolute favourite horror films.

I basically told my husband this morning "happy birthday to me, and merry x-mess too!" (my birthday is the end of this month) I bought so many pre-orders from the last week or so until this morning, I thought screw it and tossed in a few other 4k's I've been waiting for as well! I'm now thoroughly broke! I did tell my husband to buy himself the cheap bass he's been wanting to toy around with (he's a guitarist and also plays keyboard- and tinkers with other instruments) saying the holidays are coming early. That way we both spent about the same amount and he can't complain! haha!!

Yes, the inevitable Arrow is tempting just to get that extra bit of better compression especially with a presumably inherently grainy film.

Arrow will certainly be doing this too, right? I would prefer them.

Awesome film, this and Dressed To Kill on 4K, De Palma goodness. Two great horror films, up there with the best of Carpenter, Argento, Craven ECT. De Palma is easily a horror legend. Wish he made more, he shined in the genre.

Few movies have given me anxiety like this. I won't watch it often but I'm sure I'll cave and upgrade just to have more De Palma on 4K

Saw "Carrie" at a sneak preview on October 31, 1976 at the Orange County Cinedomes. Nobody had ever heard of Stephen King (this was his first novel) and nobody knew anything about the movie. Let's just say that the entire audience (and it was a full house) left the theatre screaming AND laughing at the same time. One of my Top 10 movies!!
