I never really wanted a sequel to Shin. I love that it ended with showing what humanity barely managed to avoid. A sequel would cheapen that.

I'm curious if this will be a solo film or if other monsters may show up. I don't mind either way.

You could be right, I wouldn't be surprised to see some such nods, and it wouldn't be the first time. We'll see.

The face is very Legendary. I feel the same, overall positive. Gotta see it.
Really? The face looks much more Heisei than anything else to me. The nose, the cheeks, the brow ridge and the eyes!

It has some unique aspects but feels more traditional compared to the Shin/Polygon/SP designs.

I hope I can get a action figure of it, though there doesn't seem to be any more economical-based toy manufactures with the license on the market currently. I miss NECA.

Some merch with other angles

They're not holding back on the design. Makes me think there may be something more in the film. Remember how Shin Godzilla's early forms were kept secret until release?

Janjira54 have you requested a thread title change yet?

Would be nice to see this get a wide release. It's so rare to see non-animated Japanese movies playing in theaters in the US.

Personally think the title Godzilla Zero sounds much better then Godzilla Minus One.

I guess, being a Japanese movie, Minus One has relevancy from being at your lowest point (nuclear aftermath) then this freak show arrives. The title will grow on me I'm sure.

The very bulky design of Godzilla looks familiar, and probably makes sense since he should be a giant, lumbering force of nature, slowly heading towards the city, versus a more slim creature.

Godzilla feeds off radiation energy from what I understand, and doesn't eat like a giant Blue Whale does (largest known animal on earth currently).

I hope these Godzilla films eventually switch up the percentage of human scenes to Godzilla scenes from 15% Godzilla vs 75% humans, to something more like 40% Godzilla vs 60% human scenes. These films are really about the people first, with Godzilla being like a Tornado or nuclear blast, and how the people react to it for survival.

Godzilla gets a much bigger paycheck so they have to be conservative with his onscreen time.

Ha, yes, the size of the paycheck would be skyscraper scale.

True. I should have specified the muzzle. Someone mentioned the Stan Winston design for the Fred Dekker movie and I agree with them. It's a decent mix of Hesei and Winston. I guess it's more like Legendary took some muzzle cues from Winston!

Godzilla could be millions of years old, kept alive by the radiation of the earth, originating from the deep oceans. Which is why he returns to the ocean, to restore his energy supplies for more carnage.

LOVE that this is a period piece. Always wanted to see a new Godzilla movie set in the aftermath of WW2. Loving the Heisei inspired design too. What a great time to be a fan.

Time to return to a very malevolent Godzilla. Don't really care where he comes from or how he got that way but that he's vicious and ticked off (a la Shin but can actually move fast, which the teaser shows)

I have low hopes of Toho ever making a decent Godzilla movie themselves again, 2000 was their last good entry.

Don't care for Shin and their track record for treating the Big G right on home video is abysmal.
