LOL

You could've called them 6 times already rather than posting in this thread. I guess arguing here is more fun than talking to a pimple-faced BB clerk.

Well someone has to go out of their way to find out if this is true or not... why not us?

Yeah, that was my only reason for posting this here. Several people have called their local retailers at the HD-DVD forums, I thought the BD guys would be even more motivated.

It seriously took me less time than this post is taking me. I guess everyone else here can type faster than they can talk?

I was sitting this format war out until recently, I got a PS3 and some games and a dozen or so movies and now I am addicted to watching this war end. If you aren't likewise fascinated by the process, what are you doing here? I created this thread for those of us that are hanging on every announcement and change in the situation. This is more fun than our presidential primaries, and I'm a politics addict as well!

I think we mostly hear from the fanatics, how are going to stay HD-DVD until the next format comes out in 12 years or so. It tends to skew our perception of reality.

Of course, then the sales numbers come out every week and reality slaps us around real nice-like. I just can't believe that stand-alone BD sales stay higher than stand-alone HD-DVD sales. With the price difference, this is quite the indicator that the fat lady is drinking lemon juice.

Not sure if someone already posted this, but the Official HD site seems to have stopped updating their News.

A lot of people have speculated and reported, including people like Bill Hunt [LINK], that Paramount's contract had an out-clause based on Warner (if Warner went Blu, Paramount could get out of their contract). Universal's contract was up either January or February (I've heard both dates, though the January date seems most published).

Wow.. heh heh. HD DVD really is dying! People are returning them more than ever, and so fast they have no reason to keep them in stock anymore.

Soon companies will be dropping HD DVD faster than a dress on prom night.

It's possible that they could get in all kinds of legal trouble if they go announcing Blu-Ray titles now, prior to being released from these contracts.
I would imagine that they have some standard performance benchmarks in their contracts, if HD-DVD is going to be phased out of retailers then they would have no way to meet those. If that happens they wouldn't be breaking their side, HD-DVD wouldn't have held up their end.

There's plenty of HD DVD news. It's just all BAD news, that's why it's not posted on their website.
