Jeremy Kipnis' setup is not for the faint of heart in any way, shape or form. but the sarcasm, and uneducated disrespect for the man, and his achievement is not needed.

Honestly, my first thought was "how sad..."
That huge theater, and only enough seating for two. Guess money can't buy you friends to come overcame watch movies

This is someone with alot of pride done to his theater.

This room is a technic home theater nerd's wet dream, but my wet dream would have a scope screen. Heck my own theater costs around 2K and I can still have a scope screen with an anamorphic lens. I'd even have a bigger screen than that (say a 100 foot wide screen), but it has to be about the audio with some people. 6 million is alot of money, and that may be worth it, although I would perfer the really big screen and watching art films on them. That would be offensive if that person only watches the news on it and that is the only thing he does.

Smile Aww...with envy

Vividly remember reading about this HT in the Home Theater Mag. and it was one crazy setup...If I remember his neighbor was the guy who invented the Nova Beam projector..My pops still has his 200 pound projector hanging in the living room with the 6ft. 4:3 curved screen...

I would rather spend 1 million on a ht and hold onto the other 5. I wont be greedy.

Thanks for the info KG I've. Always been enamored by his set up! Bottom line is, Jeremy can do what ever the heck he wants because A) it is his money after all and B) there's nothing illegal or taboo about having a set up like that.

If you had a ton of money & were that into audio as the looks of your signature , You like your audio I see ! Then you would not do that ~ Right

$6 mil though is still a bit much. The whole thing is just....wild. If I were that rich, yes I would spend a hefty change for a separate HT and 2-channel set-up but I doubt it would be $6 mil. I mean, would you? Bottom line, good for the owner and I'm sure he more than digs it.

I'm sure its a great set up but it looks way too "messy". My OCD would never allow anything in my house to look like that.

it's all relative...... My uncle buys $500k+ tractors for "fun", but drives a car worth probably a thousand bucks (wood-sided station wagon)..... he spends money how he wants to, because it is HIS money......

No kidding. But I could not enjoy a film or even look in that room without wanting to make it look cleaner.

Yes, but this guy's been in the Audio recording business all his life, and that is his true passion, and he had the money for it.
Me, I'd be doing the exact same thing if I was in his situation.

* I don't know if you read about his entire story and his business now, but if you did not I highly recommend that you do.
Same for everyone else.

The article DID provide an insight on the owner. He wasn't just anyone who did it because he wanted to show off as some sort of status symbol thing. That part I understand. Like you stated, it is in "line" with what he is into.

It's just the sheer enormity of the set-up can knock people back and say "whoaaaa!"... To people who don't pull that kind of coin, it would look extravagant and over the top. It's definitely not something you see every day.

Wow. I remember reading that CNET article way back.

Meh, got nothing on my HT setup.

I don't know if I would spend $6 million on a HT, hell if I had that much spare money I probably would.
