Y'all what is up with Kino these days - the last 3 or 4 releases I've gotten from them have come with loose discs. I think they must have some extra cheap cases that don't hold on to the discs very well.

I'll check this movie out tonight - doesn't seem to be any scratches, but I do want to make sure ASAP that there aren't any playback issues.

arrived..pristine slip as well..

the bd was loose from the spindle but not floating around thanks to the case and slip both sealed together in tight plastic

I will watch it later on my VAVA 4K UST projector and provide an update on how it looks. 2nd viewing will be on my LG E8 OLED..tomorrow.

Yeah, this and Kindergarten Cop were loose when I received them yesterday, but there wasn't a speck on either disc. Thankfully, they both backed up without any read errors.

Rainy night..great time for a movie.

Watched it using my VAVA 4K UST projector with 100 inch ALR screen. The projector's built in Harmon Khardon speakers took care of the sound.

Looked really good. Very clean , very detailed while retaining the look of the film. Colors were spot on and the dialogue driven movie was very crisp and clean sounding. A little more fuller sounding using the 5.1 track. Always a fan of this movie so I enjoyed watching this on the big screen. Nothing phony/funny about the video. It's far from demo material but a great presentation in it's own way. Dimitri Tiomkin's score sounds fantastic and of course there's Frankie Laine singing the theme which loops during the menu screen...can't beat that.Nice job KINO....highly recommended for fans of the film.

I took a few "screen shots" with my cell phone. Doesn't do it much justice but I hope you can see a bit of what it looks like.

Got this today, of course the loose disc in the case was the 4K disc.. is it just me or has there been a recently produced batch of these cases that aren't holding the discs in place as well as they used to? This is my first 4K Kino purchase of the year, but I've been seeing a lot of these newer not as good 4K cases with a couple Shout!/Scream Factory releases like "JFK", "Darkman"..

My copy of Leviathan from Kino had the 4K loose and I know a lot of others had theirs loose too. I don't know what it is lately. Kino's cases aren't too bad either. Scream factories cases are the worst it seems, the spindle's that hold the disc are really cheap.

I don't think it's a case thing - I've had plenty of 4Ks arrive in those shitty flimsy viva elites without loose discs. Seems like everyone's Face Off 4K was loose too. Wish Kino used the sturdier 4K cases that you randomly get more.

As usual Svet slams the color grading… this guy seriously should not be reviewing I can’t believe he made a statement like you should see if you can test this before buying. How the hell are you gonna test this before buying? See it at a friends house?

Watched my copy a few nights ago, and there's no denying at this point there's an issues with his setups.

There's been issues ever since his move to reviewing 4K. If he's projecting these disc then DV isn't viewable and we're all aware of the hurdles one has to jump to get a good decent viewing.

If it's a flat panel I'd love to know the make, year and model and if/how it's been calibrated.

There's actually a less turquoise push on the UHD as apposed to the old Paramount/Warner releases. And this isn't the first time that's been the case as well.

He claims that blues have been pushed to teal/turquoise and then provides a sky shot comparison between this and the previous release to prove it... where you can clearly see that what they really did was FIX the obvious magenta push from the old one, which was a common issue with masters prepared for DVD and CRT.

It's funny cause I skipped down past who reviewed the release right to the video score and when I saw what it was, I made a guess in my mind and went to check who it was.

HAHAH I did the exact same thing and knew it right away before seeing the name of the reviewer who it was. I basically completely disregard any of his reviews/scores as time and time again.

Seriously, how is he still getting review copies / able to review stuff? Does he own the site or something?? Jeffrey Kauffman isn't as bad (or as blind really), but it's really annoying seeing him review 4Ks.. y'know, the guy who prefaces every review by saying he doesn't like how grain looks in 4K?

Me too. Why don't they get somebody else? He doesn't seem to have much of a following.
