Mel's still somewhat persona non grata.

They know. They also don't want controversy.

Hell, last year people were trying to cancel A Christmas Story because of the dinner scene at the end.

My initial response is 'yes - all of these, please'.

If I'm being asked to specify particular priorities out of this, it would be...

Dirty Harry (1971)
the Terminator films (1984-2009)
The Lethal Weapon films (1987-98)
Blade II
Caddyshack (1980)
Pale Rider

I'd be all over Lethal Weapon, Nightmare's and....Terminator? Since when does WB own the first?
Yes to all of these, thanks.

Warner Bros. is the worldwide home video distributor for MGM, but haven't bothered to release much.

I'd buy Blade II, the first Conjuring, Dirty Harry, Dances with Wolves, the Lethal Weapons, Eyes Wide Shut, and Dog Day Afternoon. And probably the Clints. But, to be honest, other than Dances with Wolves and Eyes Wide Shut, none of these get me terribly excited. WB has such a vast, amazing catalog and most of these are not the films I'd prioritize personally. I also haven't been super impressed with WB's transfers lately, so that dampens things too.

I was hoping Shout would be doing Dances with Wolves in UHD, but I guess this means that probably won't be happening.

Typical, I joined that A-list thingy years ago hoping for a UHD poll, never had one so I stopped even reading the email notifications. Might have to have another look now!

PS

Haven't read the thread so I'm sure someone's said this already, but as Warners now distribute MGM product on home video (mostly) then Terminator would come under their remit.

You have to ask yourself “do I feel lucky”?

I will if Harry, Freddy, and Riggs & Murtaugh make it

Kind of weird listing Dirty Harry but none of the sequels. Imagine snubbing Magnum Force and Sudden Impact like that.

I'd be in for most of that list; pretty much all of it except for the Blade films and Constantine...

As others have said, WB distributes MGM titles now. Although based on what we're seeing with all the other James Cameron titles, some may prefer not to see that happen with Terminator...

The fact that Elm Street is on their list… means they obviously have not licensed the series out to anyone.

That’s just sad
I'd also grab All the President's Men.

I know people want Scream Factory to do a Nightmare On Elm Street box set like they did for Halloween and Friday the 13th (I do too), but at this point, I'll settle for UHDs from WB.

Similar to how I can't see Terminator: Salvation being released by them on UHD even though it's covered in the survey apparently.
Possibly, but unless I'm mistaken, wasn't WB's Elm Street set was one of the earlier examples of a slasher series getting the full run available on Blu-Ray?

At the very least, I could see them "testing the waters" with the first film, and then following up with a set if it sold well.

I feel like Terminator 3 and Salvation would also get the box set treatment, rather than individual releases, after the first Terminator got its own release.

True, although I'd think it's more likely that those are titles they're at least considering, instead of random titles they pulled out of a hat...

That whole list is basically a "most wanted" list. They should probably just do the whole list.

WB has been somewhat slow with their 4K catalog releases. Lionsgate even slower. If these studios are that lazy, just give the rights to Arrow Video. Arrow never disappoints.

Hopefully the only reason Pee-wee's Big Adventure and Purple Rain aren't on the list is because they are so obvious, already in the works, and an announcement of their release is coming any day now.

Purple Rain is another one I figured would be a no-brainer as it's the 40th anniversary this year (same as Nightmare). Was the recent-ish remaster completed in 4K?

WB are sitting on too many "must own" movies. Out of the list - EWS, Terminator and Freddy movies.

Sony did surveys like this for a while and many of the titles on their list ended up being released either as part of their Columbia Collections or on their own. I wouldn't be so fast to discredit this particular survey. As others have suggested, it could point toward them prioritizing certain releases over others.

That said, MANY of the titles listed are exciting prospects.
