Pretty sure audiences don't agree with that assessment

True songs was bad (new Disney Snow White live action trailer has a catchy one from Zegler though) and the 3D was mediocre too. It was very mild imo. The first 5 min was pretty strong then it went to mild and it never became strong again not even at the end. Moana 1 is better. This felt like a cash grab sequel.

Yes to 3D projectors, blu ray 3D, 3DTVs and I'll add VR stereo 3D headsets like PSVR1 with PS4.

Is Moana 2 available in 3D on Apple Vision Pro as of today January 26th 2025 now that Moana 2 was released on digital on Apple TV? I don’t own an Apple Vision Pro but could someone who does check to see if Moana 2 is available in 3d on Apple Vision Pro please!

It's not yet available in 3D on the Vision Pro. I think the 3D versions of Disney movies usually become available on the Apple TV store once the movie is released on Disney+. So maybe in another month or so.

Disney needs to stop making 3D titles exclusive to Apple Vision Pro. (Maybe the Sony distribution deal can help yield a return to 3D steelbooks?)

They will keep digital and might expand into Meta (Quest) at some point. They are definitely not releasing 3D discs.

Avatar 2 & Deadpool 3 were not exclusive to AVP…

Moana 2 will be available in 3D on Disney+ via the Apple Vision Pro. It should eventually make its way to the Apple TV/iTunes store on Vision Pro.

So, it's on D+, but available for AVP users only? Not for "standard" users, having just a standard 3D TV/VPR??

Correct, D+ does not stream 3D to non-AVP devices. Which is pretty infuriating but just how they roll these days.

Apple made some kind of exclusive deal for the Vision Pro as part of it's whole immersive world pitch. If you want to watch it in 3D, you have to buy the VP and then buy/rebuy the movie in 3D. For older movies that are available for the VP in 3D, users have to buy the 3D version as it's not automatically upgraded or granted as part of their account like how 4K upgrades happen.
I don't think it's just Disney doing it this way, but not 100% sure on that. There's a dedicate thread for VP if you want to get into that whole thing. From what I've heard, it's a great option for 3D viewers if you have money to burn.

TLDR; It's in iTunes for AVP users only. D+ is just the 2D version.

This is incorrect. There are a ton of movies, including Moana 2, available in 3D on Disney+ through the Vision Pro. As long as you have a Disney+ subscription, you can watch these 3D movies at no additional cost and you don’t have to “buy/rebuy” anything. You’re correct that this Disney+ 3D content appears to be exclusive to the Vision Pro.

Most of these 3D movies are separately available on the Apple TV/iTunes store on Vision Pro, so you can access them without a D+ subscription through a one-time purchase. However, Moana 2 is not yet available in 3D on the Apple TV/iTunes store. My guess is that it will be added shortly after the D+ version goes live later this week.

None of the Tvs/projectors available today can do 4k 3D HDR (Dolby vision), until then it will remain exclusive to AVP or maybe if another VR (company) device wants to join in ($$$) but this is just speculation on my part.

Are any other 3D movies available in Disney+ but not Apple TV?

Also, does anyone have a full list of Disney+ 3D movies?

Off the top of my head, the only two movies available in 3D on Disney+ but not on Apple TV are Ant-Man (2015) and Coco. The rest of the 3D movies on Disney+ are also available in 3D on Apple TV. I'm not sure why these two 3D movies in particular are exclusive to Disney+.

Here's the list of 3D movies that were available on Disney+ when the Vision Pro launched last year: https://www.theverge.com/2024/2/2/24...the-vision-pro

A few more have been added since then, including Ant-Man, Deadpool & Wolverine, Inside Out 2, The Marvels, and Wish. I'll take screenshots at some point and post them in the dedicated Vision Pro thread.

Thanks. What about The Nutcracker and the Four Realms? Various unofficial lists claim it's in 3D but it's not in Apple TV in my Vision Pro and I don't have Disney+.
