For a future japanese bluray release: we have a couple of scenes with foreign language (Spanish and Japanese) with English subtitles. If the English subs are not burnt into the movie (for the foreign release), custom subs may be needed for this one.

Edit: Definitely IMAX will be the best way to see this, seeing in scope you can tell in certain scenes that stuff has been cut out to fit the format.

3D Down Under. This one is showing in 3D Imax in Sydney. No 3D showing is South Australia (where I live) it seems. These descisions seem so abitrary. A Chinese cartoon in Mandarin with English subtitles gets a 3D showing yet big movies like Wicked and this new Captain America tent pole movie does not get a look in. Who is making these stupid decisions.

In IMAX, two trailers were presented in 3D (Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four) before Brave New World, and both appear to feature excellent conversions.

The 3D in Brave New World itself was very good. Don't need to elaborate much, it is as we would expect from the MCU. There are several expanded AR sequences in IMAX, and the flight/combat scenes benefit. The single post-credits scene is also presented in 3D with an expanded aspect ratio. I didn't really love the movie, but the stereo experience is great.

The conversion for Cap4 was done by SDFX and Seecubic, I snapped some photos during the credits.

Have seen this now in 3D IMAX and regular laser IMAX, the 3D version is obviously much better but overall this is one of the most solid MCU efforts in most regards, although it is one of the most subdued and understated... imho it doesn't take much effort to see the thematic undercurrent in the movie, although it appears that a lot of folks aren't paying attention to it.

Also should point out that (at least in mu theater) there is a new IMAX countdown trailer that's FF-themed and plays up the upcoming FF movie in July - there's a 3D version naturally.

I also saw this tonight in RealD 3D, and I thought the 3D was actually quite good, and more than made up for the plot, which was a bit of a mess. It was entertaining enough that I'll get the 3D blu ray from Japan if available. The 3D trailer for Thunderbolts also looked really good.

Lol, the plot isn't "a bit of a mess". If you're paying attention, everything is crystal-clear by the end.

The lack of 3D screenings is really becoming a joke. The film opens today in the UK and there is one IMAX 3D screening. After that, only regular IMAX. I do not get the hate for IMAX 3D when the studio has gone to the bother of doing the conversion?

Disney is simply not enforcing 3D showings for this one. Usually we get notified by the booking company that X amount of 3D shows are needed for the release week for certain titles. With no enforcement, movie theaters will end up choosing more 2D shows than 3D (for obvious reasons).

Absolutely loved it and I am so relieved because I bought 2D tickets for today and 3D tickets for Monday so I would have hated to watch a movie again I didn’t enjoy.

Saw this in IMAX 3D yesterday (the one and only show they had) and that is probably the best way to experience the movie. The shifting aspect ratio moments were well done and really helped sell the scale of the movie almost on an Ant-Man level at times (namely the aerial sequences). Hopefully, this will land on a 3D disc as well, but I don't know how much impact would be taken away without the expanded ratio that is offered only with IMAX. As for the movie itself, I thought it was good, but not great. I kind of expected Harrison Ford to phone in a performance as obviously William Hurt would have been in the role had he not passed away, but I thought he did a good job taking it over and making it his own. Despite being one of the shorter Marvel movies, I think the runtime of just around 2 hours was perfect for it. As for the plot and such, I wouldn't argue with anyone who felt it was a bit lacking, but I was entertained the entire time and that's really all I cared about. That said, would I run out to watch it again anytime soon? No, I'm happy to wait for a home release in whatever form (hopefully 3D) that it takes before watching it again. Hopefully some of you will be able to make it to the few IMAX 3D showings out there before something else takes its place.

Great to hear positive thoughts on the 3D for this new one. The trailer's 3D looks impressive but they can convert trailers separately in a different 3D strength
[Show spoiler] (See Pirates Caribbean on Stranger Tides, stronger 3D trailer, milder 3D in film).

Looking forward to the movie and 3D as soon as I can safely get to the theaters with all the snow.

My theaters have 7 3D showtimes, which is great. Cinemark does a great job with the 3D presentation/projection/brightness, alignment since it began in 2007 with Beowulf 3D.

If no one supported 3D in theaters, there would be nothing from Marvel (and other big studios for theaters) to convert or port to blu ray 3D import.

I forgot to mention this in my original comment, but after seeing the film again today I remembered. There is a special new version of the IMAX 3D intro that plays before Cap4, featuring a Fantastic Four design. Was a fun little detail that was nice to see before the movie.

Also, Cineplex added an epilepsy warning before the movie.. Probably a good idea.

Saw it in IMAX 3D yesterday from a nice middle seat in Row F. I highly recommend seeing 3D movies that way whenever given the chance.

As for the movie, it's of course come in for criticism but I enjoyed it.

I give the 3D, the action scenes and the visuals generally at least a 4 out of 5 stars.

Um, the story and the direction... I give 2.5 stars. I could have done with quite a bit less of the sermonizing and maudlin stuff.

An interesting, admittedly geeky inside-baseball tidbit is that I noticed all the news flashes from Charter's Spectrum 1 News. Why, might you ask, would Disney toss a bone to this relatively obscure news operation when it owns ABC (and might have used a journalistically malleable mid-to-lo-level ABC News personality for these sequences)? Well, after protracted negotiations Charter and Disney in Sept. 2023 struck a very wide-ranging TV-distribution deal ... and it looks like Disney thoughtfully threw this type of little perk in; good for them.

Overall I certainly recommend it, and the good news is that -- as some have noted -- you can cap your time with the movie itself to a few minutes under the total 2-hour running time by skipping the "Captain Obvious" post-credits sequence. It ain't worth the wait; it's far from an "Easter Egg".... especially with the price of eggs these days.

Saw it in Real D 3D, kinda far to predictable (since we know there's a RED HULK). 3D nothing made me do a rapid head turn or head duck either. So I'm saying 3D was Ok. Good thing my Favorite Hulk was Ed Norton 2008 as this ties back to that film! The CGI of Ross's Daughter was terrible and cheesy at the end. - Good Merch I did pickup 2 Pop-Corn Buckets. Shield is NICE!

Really should add Official POP-Corn Buckets as a Category for us to see what's out there/coming as we collect them, per movie release. Other than the "Thread" that exists now!

I don’t need any new Marvel movie to be the best or worst film I’ve ever seen. That said, I don’t get the hate for this one. The plot is definitely bad, a political thriller where the answer to every mystery is extremely obvious. It’s a bit weird that the movie is such a sequel to the Incredible Hulk, probably because they burned through most of their Cap specific material with Falcon & The Winter Soldier.

BUT, the performances are excellent across the board. The cast has excellent chemistry and the arcs land. I like Sam Wilson and the film makes a cogent case for why he’s Captain America. It’s the qualities that make Cap, not the powers. Harrison Ford fully commits, and even Tim Blake Nelson wrestles some pathos out of one of the most thankless roles in the MCU.

The 3D is great when it’s great. The film is mostly talking heads, which doesn’t offer much stereo material. But when the action gears up, you get your money’s worth. I wish the 3D wow moments were longer but that’s mostly on the editing.

Thunderbolts 3D trailer looks good. Fantastic Four 3D trailer and IMAX 3D countdown look great. We’re eating good for 3D Marvel movies in 2025.
