Japan Captain America : Brave New World 3D Blu-ray (2025) [Region Free] Japanese 4K+3D+BD

Moderator note: Captain America: Brave New World was only released on 3D Blu-ray in Japan, in a combo pack with the 4K disc and a 2D Blu-ray. The discs include English audio and optional subtitles for the film (though you'll have to turn them on and off manually for the few instances of foreign language dialogue). Despite being marked as Region A, all of the discs in the set are REGION FREE. Similarly, all discs have a letterbox aspect ratio with no expanded aspect ratio IMAX scenes. Amazon Japan have an exclusive SteelBook and variety of tat as usual. All other disc releases worldwide are flat.

Amazon Japan are currently not allowing international orders for this item and many others and this is likely to continue indefinitely so unless you have a Japanese address you will need to use a reshipper (e.g. Tenso) if you want the SteelBook.

The same goes for the standard edition but it's not Amazon exclusive so can be bought from other Japanese retailers (e.g. HMV Japan, AmiAmi) or YesAsia.

I think the movie is back on track as Cap got a new suit compared to the first one we saw. Though he might have two suits in the film, not sure. Also a recent report that this film is more in line with the style of Winter Soldier, which was a great action movie IMO, more than a super hero movie, which is a plus IMO.

Looking at @danielsantosortega's screenshot the 3D for this movie is in post-production. But as you probably already know, they scrapped the original movie, a lot of which was already shot (just like the Wanda movie). Apparently they are still working out how much of the original movie to keep and how much to totally rewrite and reshoot. Spider-man NWH was in a much better position from start to finish and we still didn't get the a proper "final" release in 3D so there's no chance that the 3D for a movie that is still being rewritten is in "post-production" lol.

But at least the screenshot also suggests a 3D release for Deadpool vs Wolverine which is potentially great news. But it's likely to be an Apple exclusive which is exactly why I don't like the chances of a 3D revival in the long term. However in related news, Bob Iger has just admitted on the latest Wall St earnings call the failure of his D+ dream. He says he is seeking licensing partners for what was always supposed to be exclusive D+ content. Meta could potentially be one such partner for 3D content.

It's really simple, just give the customers what they want and they'll pay you for it. Make your product too exclusive and you won't make any money from it. No 3D Blu-ray = no sale!

Exclusive or not, if you keep making stuff that no one wants to watch then current subscribers leave and are not replaced by new ones.

I don't think this is entirely Disney's choice, i am pretty sure Apple dropped quite an amount to have exclusivity on the 3D titles via their head set, after all it is one of it's biggest selling points for their device.

If this movie is testing poorly and lots of reshoots are being done and its doomed from start, just release it as a limited NY/LA premiere kind of thing and then D+ and be done with it.

True. But if the device isn't selling well (which it isn't) then everything is up for negotiation.

I hope for Mackie that this turns out well and this is kind of a flagship movie for Disney so I don't see them doing a Batgirl with this. But then again, Iger has already crossed a red line for D+ so who knows?

Didn't Disney learn anything with panasonic Avatar 3D exclusive?

If you only make available for one brand in the imediate you have recoup but on the long term it won't work. That is why it is exclusive... it excludes everything else that can bring income to the corporation.

3D Preview before Deadpool & Wolverine 3D: Captain America Brave New World 3D: Medium to strong 3D layers. It looks like a great conversion in development for the February 2025 film.

Really nice layering going on, strong layers. Good volume. Top conversion it's looking like from the preview anyway.

Good shout. Wish they included the 3D trailer with D&W in IMAX 3D.

Now that you mention it, I didn't get this in my IMAX 3D showing either. In fact, there were no 3D previews at all - they ended with Alien: Romulus. Would be the first time that no Marvel preview was shown prior to a Marvel movie in my case.

Plot twist. Saw Deadpool & Wolverine again last night. Same theater, same IMAX 3D. But this time they played the Cap 4 trailer in 3D. It looks fantastic, with depth and pop. The pulsing titles were great in stereo, with the outline and body of the letters in discrete planes. Lots of ooh'ing and aah'ing from the audience, with the final shot of
[Show spoiler]Red Hulk
getting a big round of applause. (Marvel) 3D is back, baby!

The 3D in the trailer for this might have been better than the 3D in Deadpool3.

I was pleasantly surprised, though I have to wonder if there were miscommunications between the director and the conversion crew because there's a shot where the camera is looking closely up at a revolver as the casings are ejected from it and fall towards the camera. No pop out on that, but why have that scene if not for 3D fun?

My guess is the director had little to no communication with the conversion crew.

You thought it was really strong 3D in the trailer?
