HDMI 1.3 reciver with DD True HD and DTS MA, as well as PCM is the way to go trust me. I have a Pioneer 1.3 and it's great.

When I first heard a Bose I was blown away, I ended up getting several of their products, that was about 6-7 years back. I wont be buying another, not to say that it sounds awful, just over priced for what it is. My current system irritates me, it was made before the days of HD, so no component and definitely no HDMI inputs, and only one optical input (I need at least three). Im running out of place to plug in my toys. I need an upgrade, bad.

Default Bose 10 Acoustimass

I wanted the Blu-Ray and Bose doesn't offer it; so the route I went was to purchase the Bose 10 Acoustimass Speaker System (5 speaker system) and then purchased a Denon to push those speakers... Certainly not the only way to go, but it is very satisfactory to me.

How much is the bose system he's looking out??? The B&W MT system starts out at $1,500 with the smallest matching sub possible, and goes up to $4,000 or so.... and that was BEFORE the prices went up, not sure if this system experienced a price hike, but all of their other speakers did.

Then add in the price of the receiver..... $2k min..... not sure how much the bose stuff costs, but if it's comparable, then I would say go towards this system, or Cambridge, etc.

ouch i didn't realize the b&w mini theater were that high when i posted that i was looking at the 1,250 system. but for that price i would say go with some b&w 686's and matching center.
i hate it when satellite prices are jacked up over there book shelf brothers, then again i guess it is harder to make satellites that sound really good and more people want them.

Depends what you're looking at.... the "MT 1" or whatever they are, which are the satellites, WERE $175 each.... not sure if they went up... and the sub was extra..... I just looked it up, I guess there is a sub starting at $250, so "yeah" somewhere around $1,250 but I'd be surprised if that didn't go up.... but either way, I wouldn't say $175 each is them "Jacking up" their prices. The price on the 686's are $480/pair now, and $425 for the center..... so $900 before receiver, surrounds, and sub..... but if you have an existing sub/surrounds this would be a GREAT way to upgrade.
