It’s been available on Blu-ray for over 5 years. Would have meant importing the UK release, but plenty of people import from US to UK and vice versa.

Pryor screaming in pain because a car hit his foot with Annie in the background is a nice contrast. Gee whiz! Remember when movie posters were CLEVER?!

I wonder how many people saw the poster in the marquee and went in thinking it was Annie they were going to see.

Did anyone else with a Panasonic player have the Dolby Vision go light and dark while watching this?

Another excellent disc from Sony! The grain looks great. No doubt, this is the best presentation of this film that has even existed. Pryor is amazing. The Mafia Club bit is my favorite. Hopefully, this title will sell well.

I own an L.G. and I didn't notice any playback issues.

I watched this last nite, mind you I’m downrezzing to a 1080p plasma so no DV, however I did notice very slight quick fluctuations most will never notice.

I think, or at least what I think I was seeing were lighting from actual stage and spotlight changes. Almost like who ever was minding the spolltlights may have been causing them. I could be wrong.

When I saw who shot the footage I was like Oh nice. Haskell Wexler

I'm watching my copy now and am noticing this as well. Definitely seems like a technical issue. I noticed right when the film starts up the opening credits looked a bit dim then when Pryor is on stage the PQ gets brighter then I started spotting it get darker then brighter again and in the same shot too.

EDIT: It's almost like DV is automatically clicking on and off again.

I think you may be correct. I noticed the exact same thing, at the same time, on my Sony 800.

I just browsed through about 5 minutes of the problem area and it appears to be fine in HDR.

This is a funny concert but, his Wanted concert/album was the best. But it was never aired as a concert on DVD. It's only on a album and that one will hav u on the Floor and it was a double album. So, it was a long Concert...

It appears the issue with the disc is likely related to faulty Dolby Vision authoring. The Dolby Vision on the digital copy has no issues on Apple TV.

I'm getting this issue as well. I thought maybe it was intended, and it was hurting my eyes.

Edit: I'm using a UB820 with a Sony A80J

Just popped this disc in and it's DEFINITELY way too dark. I do not have a DV setup, and typically Sony discs work fine. I'm using a Sony 4K player. Shame, their releases are usually pretty good but this is flawed. Unwatchable to be honest..

Is there any way to get Sony to correct this?

Watched an absolutely pristine print of Richard Pryor Live in Concert (1979) last night. It would be so great if whoever holds those rights could get it out there on UHD. It looked incredible.
