I wouldn't say the film doesn't have vintage charm - it's one of the rare films that do hark back to the slasher golden age IMO. I Know What You Did Last Summer is another. I don't know why people dislike F13 '09. The kills are great and so is the setting. I, for one, am stoked.

Given the fact that Marcus Nispel directed that one too and he was heavily involved with the brand new special features for this edition, I’d say there’s a good chance.

I'm looking forward to this but The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003) is what my mind went to first given this news, that's one of my most wanted titles on 4K. The fact Friday the 13th (2009) is getting a release makes me optimistic that TCM will be coming soon.

I'm fully on board the 00s slashers arriving on 4K train. Been a long time coming. Freddy vs Jason (2003) is another big want alongside The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006).

The original arguably has some pacing issues (I love how it takes its time myself), but I’m honestly shocked anyone would consider Part 2 a “slog”. Just over 1h25m long and 5-10 minutes of that is recap & opening credits. That leaves basically a lean hour of pure slasher goodness. One of the few slashers that leaves me wanting more.

I own a 35mm print of this and the 2009 blu ray could definitely use an upgrade. It's much darker than the print I have and has bad depth of field. Very excited to have this on 4K

It's the 15th anniversary of one of the best horror remakes ever made and this deserves a better transfer. Most other films in the series have had remasters but even Scream Factory just ported over the old disc for their big box set.

Main reason to own this movie is the sex scene, one of the best of all time, so it's good the longer cut is in 4k.

I do agree with others that combining the first few movies makes for a much better narrative, however narrative isn't why you watch these things so ehhh. The OGs have the very powerful cheese and nostalgia toppings.
