Do you really have a top 100 list? I have a txt file with a bunch of titles that pop into my head from time to time that I try not to forget about.

This was definitely in there, probably twice

Yeah, I keep a running Word document and move purchased titles down to the bottom and shuffle them around as needed. Truthfully it's currently a Top 100 + 6 stragglers that didn't quite make the cut, though they'll eventually move up of course.

I'm a sick man.

A day late and a dollar short!

What a great film from Bogdanovich.

I wonder if that 3 part documentary is the same thing from the UK Blu-ray:

Asking for the Moon - in this archival video piece, Peter Bogdanovich discusses the period appearance of Paper Moon (and specifically the type of filters that were used to get it right), the long takes and camera moves, Tatum O'Neal's terrific performance, the shooting of the chase sequences, etc. Also included are comments from director of photography Laszlo Kovacs, associate producer Frank Marshall, and production designer Polly Platt. In English, not subtitled. (17 min).

Getting the Moon - in this archival video piece, Peter Bogdanovich discusses the initial reactions (from Paramount Pictures and the public) to Paper Moon, while director of photography Laszlo Kovacs discusses the film's visual style. Also included are comments from associate producer Frank Marshall and production designer Polly Platt. In English, not subtitled. (5 min).

The Next Picture Show - in this archival video piece, Peter Bogdanovich recalls how Tatum O'Neal was chosen to play Addie, and discusses Alvin Sargent's script (and specifically some of the key differences between the script and Joe David Brown's novel), the shooting of select sequences in Kansas, the title of the film (which was enthusiastically endorsed by Orson Welles), etc. Also included are comments from production designer Polly Platt and associate producer Frank Marshall. In English, not subtitled. (15 min).

I think so.

Originally saw it at the drive-in when this came out. Fun time that evening.

Just wondering , is there any info of what source it comes from?

Love this film, but I've seen it so many times that the PQ would have to be a substantial upgrade for me buy it.

It is a character study, but unlike many character studies that in my opinion, are incredibly dull and nothing happens for 90 minutes, this one has action, comedy, drama and the acting is top notch. It helps if you are fan of Ryan O'Neal as I believe this is his best performance. Madeline Kahn is great too. I think you will like it. I have the Eureka but I will be picking up the Criterion as well since it is region 1...

I always enjoy Madeline Kahn in anything she's in--- and I know it's supposed to be a really good film. Looking forward to finally seeing it!

It will likely be a huge upgrade given Paper Moon hasn't had a digital overhaul since the UK blu-ray almost a decade ago.

Can we rally and get them to change the cover like they did with Tree of Life? Knowing the fantastic poster art exists and we get this instead bothers me! Sad!

It really is mind boggling… I know criterion only rarely uses OG art, but one as iconic (and artsy) as this would not be out of the question for them. I need Tatum and her heater on the cover!

Fortunately the Eureka release has the movie poster artwork on the cover.

It's impossible for nothing to happen in a movie, they wouldn't exist if that were the case.

Did you ever watch "Empire" (1965?)
