Yes, seemed bulky to me too. When I finally got it though, I was more forgiving of it's size. The only filler in there is the superfluous discs.

Hammer has posted some brief clips on its YouTube page. They look quite good, despite YT's horrible compression.

The latest Hammer newsletter featured some trivia about FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN. Is it possible this could be the next 4K release?

Rumour has it that the next Hammer 4K after this one will be SHATTER. That's certainly not the title I would have picked, and from what I understand the new Hammer company is having some financial difficulties, so it would surely behoove them to release something that would attract a larger audience, like the Quatermass films or CURSE OF FRANKENSTEIN in UHD.

Also not what I would've expected for the next Shaw Brothers 4K but I'll take it.

It's pretty much been confirmed that SHATTER will, in fact, be Hammer's next UHD release (a clip from the restored master is up on their YouTube channel). I sincerely hope we get a CLASSIC title after this because the natives are getting restless.

A bit more news: in their most recent newsletter, Hammer are offering T-shirts for DRACULA, THE MUMMY, and FRANKENSTEIN AND THE MONSTER FROM HELL. Let's hope these are clues as to upcoming releases!

Hammer own those titles 100% - hopefully they are already working on them

I'm not getting restless, I'm really pleased to see some obscure titles get the deluxe treatment. Yes, I want to see the big titles but I was expecting them to be spaced out a bit. Also the negatives many not exist for titles like Quatermass and Curse of Frankenstein, so a 4K may not be possible. Some titles like Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell have already been licensed out by a previous rights owner, so they many not be available yet.

Second Sight released a spec.ed. of Frankenstein And The Monster From Hell a while ago, and are releasing a vanilla Blu-ray Disc later this year.

I loved the Atmos remix on Kronos but yikes, the 5.1 remix on this is abominable. It just sounds wrong, very wrong. I quickly switched back to the original mono which I can listen to without my ears bleeding.

Interestingly the Hammer fanfare at the start sounds wrong to me on the 5.1 too. I’m starting to think there is an error on the 5.1 track and they never intended it to sound so bad…

I don’t have the software to check if it’s out of phase.

I can’t currently justify £35 on a Blu-Ray for this so I decided to pay £10 for the Apple TV store version. However this version does not have subtitles. This also happened with the Apple TV Store 4K version of Kronos. I’ve emailed hammer and I’ll let you know what they say for anyone considering doing this.

Yes, I got it as well. It is the original pressbook, not a reprint, so its over 70 years old and quite a collectors item. I was delighted to get it, as I like looking at pressbook reprints and to have an original is very welcome.

I doubt its worth £60 though.

Got my copy yesterday and as I was looking through it, I almost felt like I had to pinch myself. It's crazy we're getting such gorgeous, lavish 4K releases of obscure Hammer movies right now. Never thought I'd see the day. Really excited to watch this one.

Is no one else listening to it in 5.1 or don’t they mind how it sounds?

Thankfully OG mono is on there and the picture is stunning apart from the opticals (which they address in the restoration notes).

I got one as well, and I really doubt that is the original press book, based on the paper used and the colour embossing.
Plus, no fading at all, nor degradation on the paper. No way that is a 72 year old press book (well, press sheet, to be more accurate). It appears to be a somewhat obvious reproduction.

On a side note, is anyone still waiting for their copy to ship?
I can't believe I placed an early order (apparently one of the first 50 orders), and my copy still hasn't shipped, especially since they are shipping for at least a couple of weeks now.
