I do, in fact, have the faulty disc. Some of it as noticeable as well such as the push up scene Randy noted. I ordered the replacement this morning and it already shipped. However, we still decided to still watch this. It's been since the VHS days I've last seen it (!). It's a captivating film and as the old-fashioned expression goes, they don't make movies like this anymore. Really excellent performance by Keaton and a good story. His transformation in the film is compelling. I plan on rewatching it again sooner than later with the replacement disc.

My replacement disc finally arrived yesterday 13 days after shipped! Watched it last night and it has excellent pic and sound

I received the defective disc as a pre-order on 7 May. Found out about the replacement programme and wrote to MovieZyng on 2 June and got my order confirmation the same day. The replacement disc shipped on 3 June and arrived on 7 June. The whole thing was as painless as it could be.

Heh. Forwarded my original e-mail to them and got a reply this morning. Ordered the replacement..... finally. Love this movie.

Never did watch the copy I originally received.

Not necessarily -- WAC encodes both mono and stereo mixes in 2.0. Unless you have access to software that'll let you see the waveform, I would check a few scenes and listen for yourself. A pretty obvious one is during the push-up routine at the rehab center (a few chapters in) where the camera continuously pans left. There should obviously be separation there, but on the 2.0 mono disc there wasn't.

I got a chuckle out of how perfect this scene was for checking whether the disc was mono or stereo. A consistent HUH! moving right to left across the speakers as a man does push-ups. It occurs at 37:28 if anyone else wants to test theirs.

I got my copy today from MovieZyng, I out off ordering it when I heard about the audio error.

I assume the replacement disc is a 2.0 Stereo so in Dolby Surround mode it should create a surround mix, and the bad disc is just mono correct?

I can't imagine movie zyng shipping old copies at this time.

I'll check in a little bit ...

UPDATE: In Dolby Surround mode, it is in surround sound so I guess I got the correct disc.


However and surprising but WB Archive replaced the original WB logo with the most recent logo!

(Unless it never opened with a WB logo, but that was a major letdown. WB Archive has been good about keeping original logos.
