![]() ![]() ![]() Confirmed it has English subtitles on the Blu-ray and it looks beautiful too. What's not to love about Erich von Stroheim too? ![]() Le tech https://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f160016-di...aint-agil.html There's a cheaper re-release too https://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f161174-di...aint-agil.html |

It's a brilliant film as is its companion piece, L'Assassinat du Père Noël, which also comes with English subtitles.

You'd need a winning lottery ticket to get everything on your want list. Boys' School, Who Killed Santa Claus? and The Maurizius Affair I've wanted to get for some time (along with some other French Blu-ray releases). Having double-checked the reviews here of these three releases, I shouldn't be too shocked the extras don't have English subtitles. Feel like these are the sort of films Powerhouse Films or Radiance would do UK releases of.

Received an order from FNAC yesterday that included some films that may not have been mentioned in this thread that have English subtitles:
La Maison Assasinee: https://www.fnac.com/a7408931/La-mai...anchot-Blu-ray La 7 Eme Cible: https://www.fnac.com/a7950630/La-7em...entura-Blu-ray Didier: https://www.fnac.com/a17227666/Didie...Chabat-Blu-ray Je Hais les Acteurs: https://www.fnac.com/a4424828/Je-hai...Poiret-Blu-ray Darling (DVD only): https://www.fnac.com/a2228196/Darlin...net-DVD-Zone-2 Have only watched Darling so far. It was very gruelling but rewarding viewing. Marina Foïs was outstanding in the central role. I hope it upgraded to Blu Ray one day - as the film deserves wider exposure. Purchased some more films with English subtitles:
Coup de tete: https://www.fnac.com/a7639050/Coup-d...ewaere-Blu-ray Courage, fuyons: https://www.fnac.com/a10331058/Coura...hefort-Blu-ray Nous irons tous au paradis: https://www.fnac.com/a6401244/Nous-i...hefort-Blu-ray Le Toubib: https://www.fnac.com/a15963556/Le-To...-Delon-Blu-ray All have beautiful transfers, such a shame that they weren't good films (to be honest only Nous irons tous au paradis - which is the sequel to Pardon mon affaire was the only remotely watchable of the four films). |

![]() ![]() ![]() That has confirmed English subtitles on the original French track. Sadly, no subtitles of any type on the rather good interview. Disc is A + B from my testing. I enjoyed the film as a curio I have no idea what the name of it was when I watched it but it was definitely the version with no porn (which was added for the US release and it's on the Blu-ray in English with French subtitles if you choose). https://lechatquifume.myshopify.com/...s/les-desaxees https://www.strangevice.co.uk/les-de...rianne-bouquet https://diabolikdvd.com/product/les-...ay-all-region/ https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B098CW9P9J/ EAN: 3760147491518 |

From the titles I own I can't remember a blu-ray that didn't come with English subs, they're quite frequent Last edited by Hiruko; 07-26-2025 at 04:43 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() eBay Watched that yesterday can confirm English subtitles. There's also descriptive French subtitles. Really enjoyed the film and it looks great. Better than how I remember it in the cinema. That may seem unlikely but UK cinemas used to get any old junk from France and then they'd burn in subtitles or optically add them too so more wear and tear. Le tech https://www.dvdfr.com/dvd/f168148-germinal.html There was a previous Blu-ray + DVD combo release. https://store.potemkine.fr/dvd/33883...-claude-berri/ https://www.amazon.fr/dp/B08SV3YGFV/ |
