I dont care about how anyone spends their money.

I do agree that there are alot of junk Blu rays that shouldnt even be on Blu Ray. I would say 80% of the movies are rental status. I wouldnt want a collection of movies that i couldnt watch more than once.

I think I'd rather have a super sooped up home theatre with less bd's then the otherway around though. Yeah, yeah, you feel me? huh, huh? yeah, a little bit? huh? alright. (that was my stewie nudgin' on Brian impression. Just read that last bit over in Stewie's voice. It makes it much funnier)

My initial plan is to buy 365 titles that I really like so I can watch at least one everyday of the year. Once I get to that number, who knows I may well continue on buying another 365 so I can watch 2 per day.

Ya gotta love the "if I don't like it, then it shouldn't even be on Blu-Ray" mentality.

I no ppl have diffrent movie tastes but i still feel sorry for ppl that have over 100 blurays at this point in time. Bluray is the best format ever but why buy shi* movies just because there HD.

Any one agree
Honestly I think only about a 5th of the Blu-Rays out are really great movies. Most are just c quality action flicks. I got carried away with DVDs and regretted many of the purchases I made and the money I spent on them. I'm a bit more choosy now.

Not to be an ass, but there are alot of new people in this thread critisizing people with over 100 blu-rays. If you had been here for all the deals a few months ago you would have purchased more than you had planned to.Anyways welcome to everyone

I have over 150 BDs, and I would have a lot more if the Universal titles that were released in HD DVD were made available at the same time in Blu-ray. I find it difficult to watch regular DVD, and the quantity of Blu-ray movies available for rent at Blockbuster is unacceptable. Anyways, everytime a new movie is released in Blu-ray, BB only gets a couple of copies, which the employees of the store are quick to rent and keep forever.

When I was buying DVDs, I would end up buying DVDs all the time. Now that I am buying Blu-ray I won't be purchasing as much. For a few reasons, the cost, don't watch them, etc.

Ehhh.. My sister will end up being one of these people.
She maxed out recently at 1750 DVDs, thats 135 a year! (14 years she collected)

Now I'm not sure what shes going to do now, but 2 weeks ago I informed her about Blu Ray winning the format war and now shes all in PANIC MODE !
She's worried Sony is going to overcharge and make everything proprietary. But its just a format, its not hardware, ..nothing to worry about!

I stopped buying every 'oooh, this'll be a good demo disc' film after I made some mistakes in the laserdisc days and ended up with some embarrassing crap like Twister that I'll never watch again.

I only have 19 BDs now, but they're all quality titles. Another 5 on the way.

I buy what I want. Many times I can buy the movie and trade or sell to someone else for a title I do want and make out for the price of a rental. Plus, I am a skinflint. I scrounge for coupons/deals/sales/bogos etc... I NEVER pay retail *unless I have a gift card*. I've averaged about $12 per blue ray and much less for my HD DVD's (especially with the firesales at Hollywood and other places. ) As long as you're smart with your deals etc you'll come way ok. If I was buying all the movies I had at BB or CC or WM retail I would be flat broke!!!

+ I almost NEVER go to the theater so all that money that many people spend for themselves a soda and a date bought me 2-3 blu rays/HD DVD's. I get much more enjoyment out of the movies that way than wasting that much money at a movie theater.

I keep hearing people say "if you were around during the BOGO sales" that may be..... but as of right now, if all Blu-Ray discs went to $10, I'd probably pick up 2 or 3 that I don't have now, and if ALL blu-ray discs went to five bucks each, I'd probably only get 3 or 4 I don't have now. My wife may pick up a few, but that's all that's out there that I don't have that I'd even want to watch.

I don't have Cars/Ratatoulli.... I netflixed them, and yes, they look awesome, but my kid is only 4 months old, so I don't need to buy films for him yet, and I'm a 29 year old guy who doesn't enjoy pixar animated fluff. If people here like it for the plot, etc.... that's fine, but I don't, and I don't buy discs to show off my system, I buy them for my own enjoyment.

I agree though, everyone can spend their cash on whatever they want.
