It's scheduled for a March release.

According to the main IGN link for the PS3 it is 06/30/2009 (look under the "About This Game" tab down the center column). If you click the other platforms above the release date they're all the same release date.

Gamespot has it as Europe March 2009, and US TBA (no particular platform). Linky Dink

So it's looking like the very end of Q2 which really means beginning of Q3. That's fine with me, I couldn't think of a better game to play over the 4th of July holiday weekend. Even if the 4th lands on a Saturday, my work still gives the Friday before off.

Hopefully there's no more delays.

I'm going by this PSU article just written on 2/8/09. It says Q1 2009.

Check that article again, I'm reading 1/8/09 and not 2/8/09. A similar article that mentions Q1 is also on IGN dated 1/7/09, and it's also under the "Latest Articles" section in the link I provided previously. I think we're a little too far into Q1 to see it happen, especially since there hasn't been a solid release date announced by any of the major game sites. I'd really like to see the game sooner than later, but I'm not going to get my hopes up for Q1.

Yeah, 1/8/09 not 2/8/09. In other words, it's a recent acknowledgment of Sega's timetable. You think we are too far into Q1 to see it happen? The article is only a month old. Do you have something more recent that challenges that article? If not, the logical thing for me to do is to go by the latest known solid information.

EDIT: If Sega breaks that timetable, that's on them. I would, also, expect some sort of notification via the press.

I don't have anything dated other than what the current status is on IGN, but as I said IGN has that same Q1 announcement on their site, yet their current status says Q2. The Gamespot faq also says Q2. If Q1 were solid, then I'd expect both sites to have their current status updated accordingly. I'm not trying to dispute the Q1 article, but based on this info and because UK is listed to get the game first, I'm not going to hope for a Q1 release.

Edit: I just read this. Even the author of the article you linked to thinks the same:

While unable to nail down a more solid release date, it is expected the game will show up between April – June, which forms the first three months of the Japanese publisher’s financial year.

Speculation doesn't override a company's timetable. June could end up being accurate, but, as of now, it's just a guess. Logic dictates that Sega's timetable is the only thing to go by at the moment.

I already indicated I'm not disputing the Q1 article, nor am I implying that it is incorrect. Thus, for the record, I'm going by what I think is going to happen, and I completely agree what I said is speculation.

Did you completely ignore the edited portion of my last post? The article that was linked to (not by me) says Japan's Q1 Fiscal Year is April - June, which eludes to this being a Q1 Fiscal release. If fiscal year is what's being reported as a Q1 release date by Sega, we will not see the game until Q2 Calendar year or U.S. Q3 Fiscal Year which is April - June.

Here is the quote again from the aritcle:

The Sega announcement does not specify if a Q1 release is Calendar or Fiscal year, nor does it say exactly that it's Japan's Q1 Fiscal year. How do you arrive at a logical conclusion from this? Until this is all cleared up or we get a solid release date, I will continue to speculate and doubt a Q1 Calendar release. I will otherwise be more than happy to have the mud rubbed in my face because it will mean I'll get to play the game sooner, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
