Half Life 2 is probably my favorite game of all time. I have the PS3 version and havent run into any problems yet. Though I'm playing through it slowly, savoring it.

This is a definite no-brainer. It's a must own. You won't get a packaged deal with five great games in it for a better price. Or is it four games...it's been a long time since I've played it, but it's definitely worth owning. I agree, Portal alone is worth it.

Crazy... I cant stand the games in it. Porthole is fun, and then I got tired of it...

Maybe I need to give it a new go? I think so...

What would I get for selling it back? $5 or less?

I dunno

I've hesitated a long time about getting it because i can't stand the idea of bad porting. Any way my question is ..what exactly are the issues of Orange box ? Is it the frame drops only??

So does the 360 version, according to a few posts in this thread.

I picked it up a month back to try Portal after the glowing reviews. Portal did not disappoint. Now I'm playing through the first Half Life 2 again. Like I posted in another thread, I'd forgotten just how good HL2 is. Really looking forward to playing the expansions, which I never got on the PC. I got it for like $15 on eBay, so it's about the best deal in gaming you're likely to come across.

Do you consider the PS3 version of The Orange Box the underrated of the versions? Because, after everyone saying "Buy it and enjoy it", well....

I love the game and I have it on both PS3 and 360 and love playing it on either one. The whole "Orange Box sucks on PS3" is/was way over blown...If Valve were to have someone else port (even EA again) Left 4 Dead to PS3 I would get it a second time aswell.

It never crashed on my PS3. I got it about a year ago and had to download a hefty 400mb+ update when I first played it. Maybe the update corrected some issues.

I'd rather let them hire some PS3 experts and do the L4D PS3 port themselves.

Same here. My first ever double-dip for a game (if that ever happens ).

Orange Box is one of the best deals in gaming ever.

Portal is awesome. Check.

TFC is awesome. Check

Episode 2 is awesome. Check.

Oh wait a second... you also get Episode 1 and Halflife 2?

ZOMFG!

I own this on PC already but I have been debating getting it for PS3 to reply it LOL... but that seems silly.

It is easily the best deal on the PS3, but I wish they'd patch the sound/framerate/loading issues. It must still be selling at retail at such a low price, it would be a worthwhile update.

But it'll never happen.

I haven't played the expansions for HL yet, which is where the lion's share of the criticism focused. Also, I don't have Orange Box on any other platforms, so I can't compare it to anything. I guess a lot of what it comes down to is what you're looking for. The graphics don't stand up compared to Killzone 2. If you go in realizing you're playing a 5-year-old game then I think you'll have a lot of fun with it.

half.com has it for $10.99 used...

For that price, I'd imagine it's worth picking up. I'm tempted to pick it up as well. I've heard really good things from it, but I have so many games yet to go through I'd never have time to play it.

Just got the Portal: First Slice on PC. I gotta tell you, it was very nice. Some of the levels are a bit challenging, but I got through the lot of them. My only complaint is that there's no reticle for the ASPHD (Portal Gun). Is there even a reticle on the full version?

Yeah there should be a dot with orange color and blue color around the dot Blue representing the blue portal and orage representing the orange portal.

I just did one more run have to say it gets better each time episode 2 is probably the stronger title but also the most difficult.

People still play team fortress I recomend playing by yourself before jumping in or you will be owned in ways you could only imagine as the players are very very good...

Oh and a hint with TF2 it is a normal practice to shoot team mates, if a team mate shoots you shoot them back.. this is the way to test to see if your a spy as there is no friendly fire and firing decloaks a spy.

And do not be frightened if you see someone with your name over there head there a spy kill them.

Cheers.

But I heard people on PSN don't play too much Team Fortress 2 that often; there are just a few players online.
