Think of Orange Box as a compilation of sorts. It includes the original Half Life 2 and both of its episodes. Also it includes Team Fortress 2. Finally and best of all, it includes what should have won game of the year, PORTAL! Portal is a very trippy puzzle FPS by the way. It is a must play. Half-life 2, HL2 Episode1 & 2, and Portal are 1 player games. Team Fortress 2 is a multiplayer online shooter.

This is a collection of games from the company.
You have all of the Half Life Games (except the original-go figure) and two other games, Portal being a blast! |

I never intended on buying The Orange Box due to porting issues, but someone got it for me over the holidays as a gift. I'm only a small portion into Half Life 2 (I've never played a Half Life game ever) and I'm almost done with Portal. Portal is all sorts of awesome. I wish it were longer or had other gameplay modes. I'm sad I'm almost done with that one.

I wasnt going to get this becuase of all the EA-ports issues. But It just keeps getting awesome reviews and quite frankly im tired of FPS games with little/no campaign modes. The single player mode in this should be quite long since its HL2 and both episodes... well worth the money to me even before Portal and TF2

And to be honest... despite Valve's apparent hatred of the PS3... EA seemed to do an adequete job on this. I've only played a little bit, but everything seems cool to me.

I've enjoyed The Orange Box quite a bit even though I don't like Valve. I could never play HL2 for long on the PC since it's one of the few games that gives me motion sickness. Playing on the PS3 I haven't had that issue (maybe b/c I can sit a lot further from the screen) so I'm seeing a lot of it for the first time.

Never been a big fan of shooters on consoles, so this one remains a PC-only purchase for me. Brilliant package...Portal is amazing. Game of the Year hands-down. Episode Two is also fantastic...the big battle at the end of the game is brilliantly intense.

Of course it helps that my PC is over 7 years old and won't be playing the PC version for a while anyway. ![]() |
