Yeah, my eyes opened up quickly with that as well. The guy told me that they were trying to get rid of them all for Onkyo's new line coming out. I diddn't mind one bit if it is working well I am very happy with the 705 (so far)

For $1100 shipped, check out the BIC Acoustech 5.1 series. They performed better than the Klipsch Synergy and Reference line in one reviewer's opinion. Plus, they're half the price. Amazing horn HT speakers.

you can see temp and fan speed (if any) by holding down "display" button... tap "standby" button and quicky press "tone" button...
fans usually kick into high gear @ 69 C

Denon 3808ci FW upgradeable through the internet. All the latest codecs and enough hdmi inputs. Check out Aperion speakers. I have the 633 Towers, 634VAC, 532LR, and 632LR for a 7.1 setup...sounds fantastic.

Hey guys haven't been on in a while. Been enjoying my new 705, although still doing my research for speakers. So it seems that the Aperions are popular. Would love to hear them or even take a look at prices. Where do you guys usually shop for the Aperions online?

You can only buy the speakers from them.. So you get HIGH QUALITY speakers at lower prices.. These babies are sweet... I didn't know what to expect at first and once I got them, I fell in love with how they sound.. Very clear and crisp once they are broken in... Out of the box I thought they sounded nice... Once they break in.. BOOM they open up big time...

You can buy their speakers.. try them out.. and if you don't like them(very doubtful) you can return them at THEIR cost. Nothing to lose..
Here is their site.

www.aperionaudio.com

You can only buy them from their site.. They currently discontinued the set I have now.. I just put in my exchange for the new ones via 30 day trial... So the new ones won't ship out until April 14th .. For the black finish.. you can get them in the cherry wood finish now..

All of their staff is very helpful and you can call them and they help you pick out your speakers...

hmmm the Aperion speakers are tempting. Need some time to pay off some other goodies though Still feel a little worried if I were to pick up some speakers without hearing them although every review I have seen has been positive. Plus I do have the 30 days to return them. Anyone know how well they work with onkyo receivers? are they a good pair together? Thanks again for all your help!

Yes there are many users with onkyo receivers new and old and all of them report great results..

With your receiver you will be more than satisfied..

Where in MA are you?

I live in RI..

The bookshelf models 5B's are out until June...

You can get them now in the Cherry wood finish..

Their company is first class, and they will do things to help you out.. I will always buy speakers from this company from now on..

my friend, i was in the same trouble you were in i while back before i purchased my klipsch rf-82's! i could not decide between purchasing the speakers first or the receiver, but after long hours of reading peoples opinions here on blu ray furums, i decided to buy the speakers first because speakers dont upgrade every year unlike the receivers! i would recomend you to purchase the a pioneer elite receiver to go with your pio plasma!

I still feel a little worried purchasing an open box item but I do have 30 days to get a full refund if i see fit. I thought it was a good price for the 705 but my question is, is there anything I should be looking for since it was used or is it a bad idea to purchase it like that regardless. Thanks again guys your the best!
If you get a chance listen to some Paradigms. Listened to both Klipsch not sure what ones and the monitor 9's hooked to a Denon 2808 and the Paradigms were out in front by a mile. May as well look at speakers with scientific results paid for from the Government Of course the results were based on my hearing not yours.....try PSB's and Axiom as well .....soooo many choices.
