I would probably agree in most circumstances, but in this particular case, I think the guy who stole the SWAT Blu-Ray disc will be punished enough when he sits down and actually watches that movie.

(just kidding)

Default BD version vs. SuperBit DVD version

I bought the SB version many years ago and thought it was quite good in PQ/AQ on my old AV system (27" Sony Wega CRT, progressive-scan DVD & Denon 1601). I wasn't quite sure how well it would hold up on my new system, but it is surprisingly good for DVD.

My question is: how much better is the BD version? If at all. Thanks.

I was at Target one day(it was last year). I was looking through the new releases and found a blu-ray. I believe it was Natures most amazing events. I was looking at it and noticed that it didnt have the disc in it.

The reason I knew this was because since it was a digipack the side of the box that the movie and the holder goes in and out was not there. It was just both sides of the cardboard pressed together. So I went and gave them that empty box and told them about it.

Holy resurrection again!

I bought a "new" blu-ray last year from Best Buy online and when I opened it I found a rental sticker on the disc. I returned it to the local store for a full refund, but I also sent emails to Customer Care asking for an explanation, and after 4 responses I was no closer to the truth than when I started. I questioned "corporate ethics" and threatened to contact the local news, but they didn't care.

Then, when I got the electronic receipt for the returned movie, I saw this:

Open Box - Courageous Ultraviolet Digital Copy Bluray Disc - returned March 29

What??? There was nothing about open box on their site when I purchased the movie. I have never even heard of open box movies at Best Buy, and I still don't know why there would be a rental sticker on one. I guess somebody "traded" a used movie to Best Buy and it was a rental disc they had stolen instead of a retail version of the movie.
