Default I got a blank dvd in my SWAT Blu-ray.

i bought swat on blu-ray last friday and put it in to watch on sunday night and my ps3 wasnt reading the disc at all, i thought oh no my ps3 is fried or something. so i ejected the disc and upon inspecting the disc i noticed a purple look to it, like a blank dvd-r, sure enough when i flipped over to the label side i could feel the label like its a sticker and i could see a frayed centre hole. this blew me away, so monday afternoon before i went to work i returned it and the store exchanged it, and i opened it up to make sure i didnt get the same thing again. just wondering if this has ever happened to anybody else?

What a D Bag. How could you do that to customers who are actually paying for the game.

I once bought a Resident Evil game for GameCube at Wal-Mart, took it home, opened the cellophane and security stickers, and discovered that one of the two discs was missing while the remaining one was clearly labeled as a rental disc from...Hollywood Video, I think it was? Weird. Wal-Mart gave me an exchange.

Last week I picked up the new Bonnie and Clyde blu-ray. When I got out to the car in the Best Buy parking lot I opened the package, only to find an empty slot where the disc should have been. I took it right back in and they gave me another one, which we opened in the store. It had a disc inside.

Don't must video game stores do this to prevent theft? They keep these on the shelves and have unopened ones behind the counter. If it is the last copy they open the box and place the disc back in. This doesn't mean people are stealing they are just trying to prevent shoplifting.

The security stickers should have been a sign that something was wrong - GameCube discs didn't have any security stickers!

I think since Blu-ray is harder to bootleg people are resulting to stealing. I bought 3:10 to Yuma at Target, went home and opened it to find a bootleg of the movie The Messengers.

Same thing happened to me with Project Gotham Racing 3 for the Xbox 360.

Some asswipe bought the game, made a copy of the label and placed it on a CD (yes, a cd, not even a DVD) and then returned.

I bought it at Wal-Mart and I thought they were going to treat me very suspiciously but they didn't.

The strange thing is that it had all the "security" stickers.

I open all the games at the store when I purchase them.

On a final note: I saw a news bite on TV about a year ago. This couple bought a video camera at Best BUy and when they opened it they discovered a pasta sauce bottle in place of the camera. Best Buy was giving them a hard time issuing a refund.

One time, I got Burnout Revenge for my old PS2 and when I opened it, there was no disc. I thought that something was wrong. My mother even ringed GameStop complaining that there was no disc. In the end, my sister found out that the disc was in the instruction manual all along. Funny story that was.

When 300 on blu-ray came out this happened to me. I opened the case and there was no disc inside. Went back to CC and they told me sometimes people can open them with a razor and take the disc carefully.

Jesus Loves them

Yeah, the game stores around here still do that. My fiance bought me COD4 for last Xmas. I remember opening it and thinking "Where the hell is the disc?"
In the instructions manual. Doh!!

I ordered Mission Impossible 3 on Blu-Ray along with a couple of other BD movies by importing from USA's amazon.com last month and the disc inside was not the movie disc but a blank DVD-R disc. I wrote an email to inform them about the problem and within the same day, received a reply from Amazon apologizing for the problem and informing they are sending a replacement. Not only did amazon couriered me a replacement disc immediately at their expenses, they also reimburse me the cost of my clearance charges ( I live in the Far East ). Now that's service!

If I am buying movies in a shop, I usually make it a point to open the case to check that the discs are correct and in good condition before I pay. That's to avoid argument later.

That's never happened to me but I bought Stranglehold for PS3 a few weeks ago and opened it on Sunday only to find the box was empty.
