Dunno if anyone remembers this or not, but it was a gem considering it was made in 1989 -- awesome stuff!

you can find this one all over the place and it runs really great in DosBOX.

I remember a friend and I spent almost $100 bucks one weekend playing this game... the same thing happened years later when Street Fighter II came out. The good ole' days.

I remember Double Dragon -- though again, I lived overseas and couldn't really afford to play games much.

When I finally got back stateside, this was my catnip

The game used to scare the crap out of me, when that Sinistar character came screaming onto the screen.
It still scares the crap out of me. I have many of these games on my PC emulated. Haven't played in years though. But now they cracked down on making sure you can't get the arcade roms.

i remember when my dad bought us atari 2400 series and we got pacman, asteroids, space invaders and missle command, WOW did we play for hours and hours
my friends dad had bought the system as well with about 20 games and we had the time of our lives back then. those were the good old days

then i was pretty addicted to n64 james bond games with other friends playing. so we would play so much they would get sick and throw up from the motion of the game. gross, but we had a great time playing

One of the best things I've done was Mod my old Xbox, put in a bigger hard drive, now I play all old school games from mulitple platforms with out having 6 of them scattered everywhere.

My all time favorite game, esspecially on 2 player has to be Contra!

Loved that game
Agreed! What a great game that was. Would it not be great if companies had this same quality of games today. Today's games rarely seem to have the "magic" that the older games have!

Ti 99/4A: Pirate Adventure, Ti Invaders

Atari 5200: Centipede, Defender, Pole Position, Space Invaders, Super Breakout

PC: King's Quest, Space Quest, Mean 18 Golf, 4th and Inches, Battlezone, One on One: Dr. J vs Bird and One on One: Jordan vs Bird

Pong was the first one though and everyone spent hours and hours playing that. Kind of amazing when you think about it. Something so simple but so addictive.

Anyone here remember Cobra Command, was based of the dungeons and dragons game engine which had those cartoon like graphics? Spent hundreds of dollars on that game in arcades, and bought it for the sega cd which had about 4 games released including that one, before sega forgot they made it.

Double Dragon and River City Ransom were great. You gotta play the GBA versions too.

I remember seeing that but I didn't pick it up. Now I'm kinda glad I didn't since we have Sonic Mega Collection.

I do believe this thread started with discussion of Zelda, and I have I got something to add to that:

Who here has played Zelda Classic (http://www.zeldaclassic.com/? This little program, which is perfectly legal according to the site, will provide a never-ending supply of revisions on Zelda 1. Some of them really make you think beyond the old rules of the game.

I managed to finish the Demo Quest EX, which is obscenely difficult compared to the old game, and at parts poorly designed (accursed Wind Wizards), but for the most part a good game.

I still have my age-old collection of games from all times. My sig has the link to the master-list.
