Default Remember, Remember, the 5th of November

"Remember, remember, the 5th of November."

This could totally be the marketing slogan for a beautiful BD-50 release of V for Vendetta on Blu-ray. So, what are the chances of this coming to fruition? Thoughts?...Talk amongst ya selves...Cmon, Warner, get on it!

It won't come november 5th but hopefully soon enough.

But when it does you will enjoy the best TrueHD soundtrack there is for a movie IMO.

I love the classical pieces interwoven into this soundtrack. Crank it up and hold on. My order for V for Vendetta hopefully comes next week.

It'll come several months later, if Warner holds true to form. BD50 and everything you described would be great. If it doesn't come out until sometime in 07, there's pretty much no excuses for it not to go down like that.

I think it's more like "Remember, remember. The 17th of November."

I can wait for the BD version of V. I just hope it gets identical features, at least.

Warner has played it pretty fair thus far. I'd be shocked if it came out and were anything less than exactly that.

V was on my top movies of recent past. I didn't buy the DVD just waiting for the High Definition version. Ahh the 1812 Overture and V in HD . Yes

Well one of my most awaited HD DVD - > Blu-ray Warner titles took 2 months (The Searchers) so it's just a matter of patience.

It'll be worth the wait. Thanks to 90 percent studio support, I'll have plenty of other great movies to keep me occupied in the mean time.

never saw it, but hearing that tchaikovsky's 1812 overture is a fantastic reason to see it.

i like to pull this song out to demo my sound system. it works exceedingly well when the canons start firing. shakes my place and the neighbors across the street (granted, only if i have it cranked).

OT: I need to find a nice high rez recording of that, among other things. I think Telarc and Kunzel put out a nice SACD a while back...

The TrueHD is missing from Superman Returns spec.

I hope that is not the beginning of a trend...

I am confused. Is V scheduled for Nov. 5 as BD 50 or it's just what we want?

Staying OT there is a restaraunt in Ocean City, Md. called Fagers Isalnd that during the summer season blares the "Overture of 1812" and times it exactly with the sunset on the Chesapeake Bay. Freakin amazing.

If any of you vacation in Maryland anytime in the future you "must" experience this. Gives me chills evertime I hear/see it.

Yup, and it's 6.0.
The 6th channel is used as a height channel. (That's easy to set up, you can send the 6th channel (which is usually used for the LFE .1) to a crossover and the lows go to the sub (or subs if you have more than one ) and the mid and hi frequencies go to your ceiling speaker(s).

The 1812 SACD disc also has test tones and stuff.

Now excuse me while I go set up some.. mmm.. bombastic sounds...

Hopefully you'll be able to pick up some SACDs in the meantime. Keep your eye on eBay as there are often some bargains on there.

SACD = audiophile bliss.

I picked up Death Cab for Cutie's Transatlanticism on SACD Stereo which I was very surprised to find. It's an excellent recording.
