Can somone explain how this new version is going to be IV. The first one released on ps2 was the 3rd in the series. It was Liberty city, then they had Miami vice, and the latest was San Andreas. I remember the old ones were it was just an overhead view. This version should be VI no?

GTA: III
GTA: Vice City Stories
GTA: San Andreas
GTA: IV

GTA: Liberty City Stories was never considered a full GTA game. It was somewhat of an add on game. Isn't GTA IV chronologically set right after GTA: III but before GTA: Vice City?

ok thats what im asking. and by liberty city i didnt mean the liberty stories one. i meant the one in new york. the first ps2 one. but if its supposed to be after that one it makes more sense

This is how the order works
1. GTA
2. GTA 2
3. GTA London
4. GTA 3
5. GTA Vice City
6. GTA San Andreas
7. GTA Liberty City Stories
8. GTA Vice City Stories
9. GTA 4
After GTA 3 the rest were in the same time-frame but different places and some same characters now GTA 4 is new in 2000's
And there was no miami vice

2. GTA 2 = Dunno
3. GTA London = 1960's
4. GTA 3 = late 1990's-early 2000's

We won't know that until we get the game. Even when a developer says two versions are the same, there's always differences.

If SCEE are working closely with Rockstar, I don't think there's anything to worry about.

Oh yeah I know it will have differences but it wont be better for any console.

And SCEE better be working there ass off! Rockstar have let me don't selling out like they did, they have to do something for Sony.

Bit of an oxymoron that, assuming both versions have technical advantages, it's unlikely they'd cancel each other out in a way that satisfies everyone equally.

But you know PS3 fanboys will say the PS3 version is better and 360 fanboys will say the 360 version is better. If I were to guess, I would say the PS3 version would be better.

Anyway GTA 4 looks good, but I'm not a big fan of the series. GTA 4 SE honestly I can live without and save my $30 to put towards a Blu-ray moive.

I don't really care which system the game looks better on. The point of a game is to have fun. I wish gamers would grow up and stop the childish "Mines better than yours" games. If Xbox 360 fanboys want to play this game that's fine, but we can act more mature then them.

It's not so much about fighting over which system is better, as much as if it weren't for the playstation, sales of gta would be way lower then what they were, and the game would not be any where near as well as it is today, so I would like a little bit of respect from rockstar in making the game as best as they could for the playstation, especially after they sell downloadable content to the highest bidder. Rockstar made more money off the ps over the years then they will this year from ms.

Your so right. Rockstar eally let me down doing what they did. We supported them from the first GTA. They turned the back on us, sorta, and sold out to MS. R* have to do something for Sony and I think they are. But they bloody better.
