You're as bad as me

I had also bought Blade Runner in the suitcase when it came out on SD. I couldn't pass up the BD version when I saw it at BestBuy for $19.99. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet, but I'm told the BD version is worth the investment.

I'll be surprised if we don't see Blade Runner on the list. I remember folks blind buying this and could not understand what all the fuss was about. To each their own.

I love Tim Burton (Big Fish, Batman, Sleepy Hollow), and bought this on a blind buy with that logic...but it just struck out. Maybe I need to watch it again, but I just couldn't invest in the story, it was too farfetched...and since it was posed as a drama (not a disney-type fairy tale).

Crank.

Other thank that, I have a few regrets. Some movies I enjoyed and was happy with the PQ/AQ, but I don't see myself rewatching. Sometimes I get a little carried away without considering whether or not I'll watch the movie more than once...

Just as with 2001, I can sort of understand why younger/non-fans of either of these movies might have an issue with them.

2001 is a mostly visual/cerebral movie that is very long and very slow in parts. Blade Runner is a matter of taste. This is another movie that I saw when it came out in the summer of 1982...in of all places...a drive-in theater. I was as blown away by Blade Runner as I had been by 2001. The Final Cut was Ridley Scott's swansong and a LONG time in the waiting for us fans of the movie. The SD version impressed me enough to spend $20.00 to have it on BD...I'm just disappointed that discs 2 and 4 (documentary material) are SD discs. Oh well...you can't have everything.

Thanks for bringing that back to my attention. I keep on bringing up T2 as a disappointment, but now that you mention it, Talladega Nights was very very disappointing PQ and AQ.

Default Live Free or Die Hard

Even though I really enjoyed Live Free or Die Hard my blu-ray won't play in my BDP-S300 player. I told Fox and they sent me another copy...and that one doesn't work either. Just don't understand why.

So what movies excite you?

Casino Royale was anything but boring IMO. Top 5 favorite BDs.

Movie I regret buying, Pan's Labyrinth. Saw it at a dollar show, thought it was good. Then I bought it and something about that f**king little girl pisses me off!!! So I sold it on Ebay for more than I paid for it.

I can understand the sentiments about Casino Royale, as I didn't like it either, but luckily I rented it first.

My biggest regret would be Black Hawk Down or TMNT. I had seen Black Hawk Down after it came out on DVD way back when and I hated it, but I figured my taste in movies had changed significantly since then so I'd give it another go cuz Best Buy had it on their 2 for $30 deal. I liked it better this time but still not that much. You never see enough of one character to invest anything with them, and the filters used were too over done I thought. It felt like I was watching a Tony Scott movie, not a Ridley Scott movie.

TMNT while awesome PQ the story was just a little off. Granted nothing like TMNT III off, but I just didn't dig it as much as the first two live action movies.

the untouchables, the story is based on real life people, but is so far off the true life story its not even funny. i mean why is it called the untouchbales if like 3 of them get killed. thats retarded. plus i bought it right before paramount defected so it left a bad taste in my mouth to watch it, which probably has something to do with it.

2001 is one of the greatest movies ever made on top of that the PQ and AQ are top noth.
