Seriously though, isn't it refreshing to read about someone that just wanted to step up, making that first step, to HDTV and purchasing their first BDP? Hearing the reaction of how cool HDTV is? Anticipating their first BD and then bragging about it afterwards?

This is in essence what it's really all about, isn't it? We all come here and spout off, at times, all the techno-jargin and our techno-philosophys and get completely lost in how basic and academic the first toe in the pool felt like.

I don't know, it's probably just me, but I think it's cool to see someone kneel down and drink the water for the first time. It's refreshing. Congratulations on your purchase and you have just scratched the surface of what's going to be an awesome ride down the audio and video mountain.

Keep asking questions.

<-- That is for the bolded text.

It truely is an amazing ride. I also completely agree with you, it is refreshing to hear about someone kneeling down and drinking the water for the first time.

This is starting to sound like a cult or something. What have I stumbled into?

... As she rises to her feet, wiping away the remaining drops of cool water from her lips. She was satisfied, oh yes, she was satisfied but there lay a hunger deep within her that she couldn't contain. The force inward would soon become the outward act that would bring her back to her knees to drink again from that pool. That pool... it calls her. It calls her to drink... again.

Or, we're just glad to see ya hear!

OMG, I just finished National Treasure, and while I make peace with Hollywood films and realize how fun they can actually be if you just stop analyzing the plot, I am already planning my dedicated home theater in the basement.

I'm thinking maybe a 120 inch screen, projector, theater seating for about 12, and even....oh, how about a real popcorn maker!!!

What have you people created????

Just wait until you hear a full blown DTS-HD MA soundtrack in all of its glory with a full 7.2 (you will need two subs) setup.

Then truly your life will never be the same.
Enjoy your new toy and pick up some more movies.

Nice bit of prose there. Seemed like something out of a Dean Koontz novel.

Oh yeah, enjoyed the dancing banana too.

I'm pretty sure I'll be buying either the Mag NB500G9 ($298) or the
Sammy BDP 1500 ($348), and I'm curious which is the best - especially when it comes to up conversion?

Also, are the failure rates high enough to avoid buying from Amazon? If not, I'll just mail order, though the Mag unity sure is getting a lot of complaints on Amazon feedback.

Thanks
