why not have blu-ray develop thru 3dsmax

www.wowvx.com the tv should have 3d playback without the glasses and do 1600p and up

Still have to wear 3d glasses for 4D. the extra dimension just gives for external experience like smells and stuff. Theres nothing in our eyes that could see the screen pop 3D so thats why we need the glasses. I dont see anything better than 3D or 4D for a while

you mean I have to wait TWO MORE YEARS to finally get my ToyStory pixar fix? I sure hope it comes sooner on BD, even without 3D. I want this movie...BAD!!! I can't wait two more years just because its 3D, I would rather have it now in 1080P (one dimension please).

"P3L : To view the movie in 3D, we need a special TV. Any special glasses too ?

Manuel R. : You can use the 3D TV from Samsung (both RPTV DLP or the their newer Plasma), Mitsubishi, Kerner electronics, IZ3D Monitor and Hundai. The DLP based TVs work under shutter glasses (by blocking the left and right eye alternatively) Kerner, IZ3D and Hundai use polarization glasses."

Not sure how effective 3D would be in a home environment. Interesting to find out.

I'm not keen on this idea of releasing a single disc with both 2D and 3D versions on, I hope that doesn't become standard for all movies, compromising the 2D bitrate.

I only hope it will be a few select titles. Like the nat geo ones. I am going to buy a RPTV DLP for my room to see how it works.

I had a 3D kit from razor 3D awhile back... VHS and DVDs where you had to wear shutter glasses.... the movies were terrible but the 3D wasn;'t bad.

Default Bluray and 3D?

I wonder if 3D will take off a little better with the arrival of HD. I was never impressed watching 3D films until the Hannah Montana disc came out. I mean it looks really amazing! I'm thinking the absolute best way to watch a movie would be in Imax 3D... for the added dimension. Will the future hold many more 3D films? Will Sony and others develop high quality 3D glasses? I just think that compared to the future...we are still in ancient times when it comes to watching movies!! Sure, we got our HD big screens....but when will we start seeing curved imax type screens? I think we have alot to look forward to in this hobby of ours.

Pretty much just the two Zemekis movies

Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender are lousy conversions that often times barely register as 3D
The IMAX releases are way way overpriced. Charging the same for 40 minute IMAX documentaries as you do for full length movies is crazy. Will bite when I see a price drop
Open Season and Cats and Dogs 2 are how you say not good movies

So pretty much The Polar Express and A Christmas Carol are the only 2 of November 16th releases worth getting in my opinion.

In this order:
A Christmas Carol
Polar Express
Open Season

The 16th can't get here soon enough. I'm glad we will have good 3D movies to entertain holiday guest. I only have six pairs of glasses so folks will just have to take turns.
