Default Bad! Bad! Bad!

Any way you size it up, the list provided just SUCKS! One poster said "Disney is a huge company". Yeah, well this list is just poor pickings. Disney did well with the three POTC movies. There are hundred of other titles more deserving of Blu-ray conversion dollars.

I'm underwhelmed outside of the Kill Bills.

Completely agree.

Aside from Dead Poets, there's nothing there for me. That's ok. A lot of the other studios will have my money.

Where are the pixar films? Where's the Sixth Sense that was announced overseas? How about Dick Tracy? The Rocketeer? The Scream movies?

Here's a candle, join the lamenting vigil for Disney's '88-'95 Silver Screen Partners movies ever reappearing on proper disk re-release, if they don't happen to be "Roger Rabbit".
(It has to be SSP rights issues; it's been ten years and we'd at least have had Rocketeer back on anamorphic SD by now--Early 90's B.O. aside, its cult has already grown to equal Tron's.)

As for the others, <sigh>, MUST we repost the Sound & Vision "Five reasons why some back titles are chosen and others aren't" (eg. studio rights, master print) again?
Or are we still going to live in those uncivilized dark ages of superstition, where we still believe that studios release certain titles on disk because they WANT to?

Well, with practice, you will barely notice the subtitles. I watch movies with subtitles all of the times.

Dead Poet's Society and Mimic for sure. Probably Sleeping Beauty and maybe Cool Runnings.

While not listed, hopefully Prince Caspian and Wall-E are released this year since I haven't seen them and I'm waiting for the blu-ray to do so.

Motion seconded. I loved it -- it's one of my favorite adaptations of a classic novel.

Besides Mimic which never had a proper anamorphic transfer on DVD, I'm not impressed with what has been announced thus far. As cool as Kill Bill is, I'm going to wait a bit longer for the Whole Bloody Affair edition.

The thread is going from Disney's plans for the Fall to Disney's upcoming slate...

We've already known it was "Finding Nemo" (from the director of "Wall-E"!) for months now, we only had yet to establish when...

This one's my favorite:
http://www.netflix.com/Movie/The_Cou...risto/60030401

(And hey, wait, did Disney ever release "Miracle", and nobody told me? )

These are all classic movies:

Kill Bill 1+2
Diving Bell
Sleeping Beauty
Nightmare Before Christmas

Mixed in with a number of solid movies i.e. Finding Nemo, Mimic, Cold Mountain etc.

I don't know how anyone can expect much more than what Disney is releasing this early in the blu ray adoption cycle. Compared to their standard DVD release schedule this is quite generous.
