Nice find. I'm sure I would have missed it since I usually just look at the pictures.

I'm definitely interested in both (Hellraiser and Children of the Corn).

I want Hellraiser 2, which I thought was better than the first one.

Yeah, someone should really punish her for that...

If Halloween is being double dipped already, hopefully they'll included the footage added for television.

HEY. Here's an idea. Why don't you release the more important horror films like The Exorcist, The Blair Witch Project and Nightmare on Elm Street, THEN worry about Hellraiser. Sound like a good idea to you?

because different studios own the rights to those films?

I would never buy The Blair Witch on Bluray - waste of $ - most of the footage on that is terrible quality.

On a side note - can't wait for Hellraiser and Children of the Corn

I just hope they release the rest of the Halloween catalog soon.

Really? You really don't know how these things work? I'm quite positive Anchor Bay has the rights to none of those films you mentioned..

Sure, just sell the rights to Exorcist, Blair, and Elm Street to Anchor Bay, and then they'll release 'em.

In the meantime, they'll license the Blu's that they own.
(And which they already have a tendency to double-dip into the ground, but they've already done their Halloween, Dawn, and Evil Dead 2 Blu's.)

My guess for the "surprise release": Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Anchor Bay has the DVD rights

Which doesn't fit the clue about it being a 'Horror Icon'. It's Halloween.

This is great that these old school horror movies are making to blu. I mean all thats left now is The Exorcist the version you've never seen, the first nightmare on elm st and that will be it.

The Exorcist is supposedly coming this year. We'll hopefully see news soon.

Just reading your posts makes my IQ do temporary swan dives....
Read up on how this works a bit.
Besides, Hellraiser deserves its place right along side each and every one of those.

Anyone remember when Anchor Bay only released crappy quality SLP recorded VHS tapes? I had a few of those. Talk about crappy when you buy a video and then when you opened it up you could see there was only about half an hours worth of tape in it, but I guess you could feel it since they were not as heavy as regular tapes. Then when they released Halloween on DVD it was one of the worst transfers ever. I haven't checked out their BD releases yet. I have them, I just haven't watched them yet.

Hellraiser is an important film. It signaled the rebirth of the noir, horror-exploitation film.
