Will someone PLEASE kill that nostalgic "Similar Threads" bot at the bottom, or at least let readers be aware it's bringing up oldie hits from 2008?)

That pretty much explains why there's no consistent logic to any of the hauntings, and the demonic forces seem to be making things up as they go along.

The killings by Ronald DeFeo though were no hoax. The Lutzes likely embellished much of what happened to them.

Looks like Carrie is getting a cover remake in Feburary. I'm assuming this will be the same disc as previously released but guess we won't know for sure until this is released.

Hopefully it's at least the version that comes with the SE DVD in it.

I really hope that "Carrie" gets restored at some point. The current BR looks ok, but the film always had a flatter contrast. The prom scene is now too bright. The fire has blown out contrast and it loses its impact. The whites in the film are also too bright and blown out. Check out the documentary included and that's how it is supposed to look.

It will be the same disc. The film needs some serious restoration. We talked to them about doing it, but the elements are very fragile.

Hopefully they will carry over previous bonus feature from the most recent DVD release. Will be cool to see what the transfer will look like in the end.
I have the previous Canadian release on blu-ray and its a terrible picture - hopefully they've looked into this - or did they just throw the bare bones, poor quality picture and sound into a new cover?

It needs more than a new cover, it needs the bonus features found on the DVD...this title would be a great Scream Factory release

That's a shame, however if they are fragile now imagine them later on. I think DePalma should get involved to push for a restoration.

Interesting! A remastered Scream disc with extras would have been nice.

My copy of "Amityville" doesn't have macroblocking or any other artifact in the opening.

Make sure the settings on your HD TV for sharpness are turned completely down to off. Sometimes this helps on compression. In HD you need no sharpness.

Default Carrie

Anyone know the stats on the re-release of Carrie yet? Audio/Visual? The original blu-ray release sucked - is this one better?

According to what Cliff from Shout Factory said, it's the same disc...
