We've had a Magical Artifacts, Ghosts, Voodoo, and Undead Knights.

Yeah, like the whole Crystal Skulls and the Interdimensional Beings are such a change.

I would think that it is a little bit of a change because I feel that there are a lot less people who believe extra terrestrials even exist than there are people who believe that one's own faith can lead to magical, if not dangerous, things.

I'm trying to think of a name for the next Indiana Jones movie. How about "Indiana Jones and the Search For The Meaning Of Life"

I think you're being a little dramatic. It got something like 77% on rottentomatoes.com and many people found it to be a fun, entertaining movie.

I can respect that he took a risk with SW so that he could have the control over his films. I'm specifically talking about Lucas's creative control over the films he produces. Does he forget that Spielberg has a pretty decent track record as well?

I say we tell both Lucas and Spielberg where to do when it comes to a new Indy movie.

Darren Aronofski should direct the next one.

I don't really think it's supposed to matter whether people believe in them or not. I don't believe in any of that stuff, and it didn't effect whether or not I could have any fun with the movie. One thing to keep in mind is that spaceman mythology is, in fact, quite tied up in Latin-American legend. UFO geeks love to drag in stuff like the Nazca lines (featured in the movie), the sarcophagus of Lord Pacal, etc. It's all in the pop culture.

Also, remember that Indiana Jones himself never believes in any of the stuff he's going after, in every movie he's always chastising somebody for believing in ghost-stories. He's a scientist, it's his job to skeptical. I've always gotten amusement out of the way that even after all he's seen, he never falls for any of it.

I think that there are quite a few people who enjoy the original trilogy because of the those who truly believe that something like that might be out there. I know that I do believe in the lost Ark and the Holy Grail and the plot line of seeking out those artifacts made it that much more enjoyable. I know that is not the case for everyone, but I would surmise that those who believe in it will most likely want to see it.

I do agree with the whole "Indiana Jones does not really believe" bit though. I feel that since he has found them he obviously believes they exist but does not believe in the powers they have, which does make it less biased.

Facts don't even matter anymore when it comes to Lucas-bashing. For example:
maybe you should realize who you are talking to. I might be the biggest Indy fan here. It has been known for many years that Lucas has wanted to take him to space and call it that. Would you like me to look up the quote?

EDIT: on the CGI. Most of it wasn't. As MJ stated. the problem was the cinematography. everything had a waxy, slick, bloom effect that made it look funny.

Somebody needs to tap Lucas on the shoulder and tell him that he's finished. Go and count money for the rest of your life, George.

When I walked out of Indy4, by buddy stated "It look slike it was filmed specifically for Bluray in the home." Interesting thought due to the lights and way it was shot.

Yeah, I almost walked out of the theater when Shia swung thru the trees with monkeys.

The problem with the movie is how good the previous movies were everyone went in expecting this great movie and it was only a pretty good movie failing to meet peoples expectations, it was the same with Star Wars episodes 1-3.

I liked the movie, but I was disappointed because I was expecting great things, if I had no expectations going in I probably would have thought the movie was really good.

I am looking forward to the next installment.

unfortunately Spielberg can't take Indy back to Nazi times due to Harrison's age. I say give the reigns to Nathan Fillion....the next Indiana Jones instead of that good for nothing I'm in every movie Shia. I truly hope they don't make a 5th movie......I don't want to go through another brain damage inducing crystal skull movie. I wish Luca's skull was made of crystal so I could shatter it.

No offense to Lucas i love the things he's done.. but he needs to get a stroke and have Spielberg have "power of attorney" for his movies.

edit: i have to add tho i loved Crystal Skull, i dont understand the h8 over it... but also Crystal Skull should be as far as they ever delve into aliens for Indy, any more and i think even Spielberg would hang himself

Wow, really George? Somehow I'm willing to bet when your Clone Wars movie comes to home video, it hits DVD and not Blu-ray... Hypocrite. Last I checked Close Encounters of the Third Kind is one of the best catalog titles available in a killer 2-disc set.

sounds like you are taking this personally. Are you a former employee of George? Wow it's just a movie.

"Why so serious?"
