Because they don't need to since they do not have motion blur problems due to the technology used in plasmas. Also, I could be wrong, but I don't think a higher refresh rate = more lines of resolution resolved.

Please refrain from comments that add nothing to the discussion and only serve to insult and provoke an emotional response.

Arguing the pros and cons of any visual display technology is fine-- just be prepared to back it up with facts, links, or what have you. Just saying one is better than the other and then hurling flamebait at others will not be tolerated.

Carry on gentlemen.

idk i still think i would rather stick with a kuro plasma or even a panasonic...im not a huge fan of the 120hz "soap opera" look and i prefer the deep blacks and more realistic colors that the plasmas offer

Dude, give it up. You offered no fact in your argument, and then when you were shown to be inaccurate, you started dropping insults.

Question! I own the Samsung LN52A650, and I just don't understand..

the 580 lines of motion resolution, is only there when I set the 120Hz Auto motion Plus to ON? And if yes, does it make any difference the "low/ medium/ high" presets?

I mean, how can the guy tell us "580 lines" if the tv has 3 levels of intensity on that? and If we have a "nice and easy scene of a comedy movie" does that resolution may get higher?

And how can sony w3000 have 500 of motion resolution without 120Hz (along with others on the 2007 list), and now each one that have not 120Hz have 300? I can't understand. Does that means my A650 has 580 lines without 120Hz, right? so, what about with 120Hz motion plus?

actually the panny 85U are 480 HZ and the upcoming ones are 600hz. But thatīs just marketing, plasmas donīt need more hz because of how plasma works, unlike lcds.
