This is one I wouldn't mind in full frame. I wont complain about having it in Widescreen either... Hopefully the Dolby TrueHD track will rock as this had some of the scariest music in it...

Yes, I thought the picture quality was exellent for an older movie. For me The Shining is one of those movies I can watch over and over. Each time I catch something new. In fact, if your a reader and haven't read the book I recommend that you do. Great read!

The movie is excellent. If you haven't seen it, I would definitely suggest purchasing a copy.

I get it! Double-meaning!

Seriously, great movie and pretty impressive transfer, especially given its age.

While some people prefer the TV remake which is closee to the book as I understand it, I really think the movie is excellent. I liked the remake, but the cast, setting, cinimatography, and sound design make the movie a classic.

I only wish that they could have worked with Fox to include the Simpsons Halloween parody of the movie as an extra. Even in low res it would have been great to have.

Chris

No, it's one of those movies I have just seen bits and pieces of on TV, and never got to watch it from beginning to end. I plan to see it now that it's on Blu-ray. I've heard only good things about it, so I'll see it. Thanks guys.

Definitely Stephen King's best horror novel.
Jack Nicholson plays the lead role in the movie.
This is a classic horror film that is bloody good fun.

Heres the thing... It is a Kubrick movie which moves too slow for the short attension span theater crowd. I will tell you to buy it if you own it and are familiar with the movie. It is worth the BD up-grade. But if you have never sat down and watched it... well, at your own risk apparently as some here did not like 2001 or even Blade Runner which is beyond my understanding if you are a film buff.
