No reviews have leaked yet. To date, Paramount has not locked any of their titles region-wise so they will probably be a safe bet. However, you may want to wait until the reviews roll in.

Being a junkie for the series, I blindly pre-ordered them

Well, if you get em' first be sure to let us know! I don't know if it's just me but finding region codes for Blu Ray releases seems a lot harder than it was for DVD.

If part 3 is released in 3D how good do you really think it's going to look?
Has anyone seen the Polar Express 3D version on blu-ray and how did it look?

The UK DVDs feature the missing extras from the US DVD but omit the 3D. Since the US DVD is cheap, I will probably spring for both and combine the releases.

For the record, the BBC has listed that Paramount's UK DVD has:
00:12:19:02 FRESH CUTS: 3D TERROR (FEATURETTE)
00:09:07:22 LEGACY OF THE MASK (FEATURETTE)
00:06:49:24 SLASHER FILMS: GOING FOR THE JUGULAR (FEATURETTE)
00:08:30:16 LOST TALES FROM CAMP BLOOD - PART II (FEATURETTE)
00:04:35:18 LOST TALES FROM CAMP BLOOD - PART III (FEATURETTE)
00:02:00:23 FRIDAY THE 13TH PART 3 3D (THEATRICAL TRAILER)

I got my Part 1 Blu and 2 and 3 (reg DVD's) early... PART 1 is amazing!!!! I really hope they throw that much effort into the rest when they get released... Part 3 comes with the red/blue glasses and I just watched a little bit... pretty cool... I mean nothing like you see in the theatres... but for those who didnt see Part 3 in the theatres it give you a bit of an idea what was missed...

The glasses are kinda cool... they have the design of Jason's goalie mask on the front!!!

Except that in the theaters they didn't use headache-inducing red-blue anaglyph 3D. They used polarized lenses, like the ones used for My Bloody Valentine 3D (but made out of card stock, not plastic).*

* Okay, after further research, the original Friday the 13th 3-D used linearly polarized lesnses, whereas My Bloody Valentine 3D uses circularly polarized lenses. The only real difference here is that when you tilted your head sideways with linear lenses you would get double vision, and with circularly polarized lenses you won't. Still, Friday was not anaglyph, so this DVD is by no means a close approximation to what was seen in theaters.

I dont know about Polor Express but I watched Journey To The Center Of The Earth in 3D and it was amazing! So if Paramount releases Friday Part 3 in 3D I am hoping to get the same experience.

Yeah by no means is the Part 3 DVD gonna be anywhere close to what My Bloody Valentine is... just nice to see it in 3D... I was only 2 when it came out... so seeing it this way is for now the closest Ill see it in 3D

But yeah if and when they do it for BluRay... I think itll rock and hope they do not use the Red/Blue glasses

Just finished watching Part 1 OMFG AWESOME! Its like seeing it again for the first time... HIGHLY recommend it.... specially if youre a fan of the Friday the 13th SAGA!

Also wondering about region coding; Paramount usually doesn't do that but who knows if their policies are the same for every area.

Plus, will these definitely be at least the R-rated versions? As I recall nearly all of the 'Friday the 13th' films were shown in the UK with heavier cuts.

Part 2 required no additional cuts in the UK (because the MPAA had already gone jihad on it after all the flak they received for not coming down hard enough on the first one). Parts 3-7 have had all the previous bbfc cuts waived for the DVD releases, so there's no reason to think the blu-ray won't be the same.

Looking around Google most places that are taking pre-orders are listing both 2 and 3 as Region B. Anyone know of any UK retailers that post back covers? I've found one site that shows the spine for both but that's it.

I've read over on AVS that these are indeed region free, however the extras are in PAL (U.S./Canadian players can't play them).

Good to hear, although he admitted his info was second hand. Hopefully someone actually gets these or gets some splid evidence they're region free. Maybe it's not the best place to ask but since these would be my first imports I'm a little confused on one thing. I know the whole PAL thing means nothing when it comes to the actual movie but I've heard with he PS3 there might be other issues with playback on the PS3? I can't remember where I read it but I've heard about issues displaying the menu? As long as I can get it to start the movie playing I don't care about the menu (or special features) but is this an actual issue?
