people who like little big planet and gt5 and don't like paying to use their system online or paying extra for wifi or have game disks that can hold up to 500gb so we don't have multi disk games would say otherwise. just a thought

any other suggestions?

as for the "just use hexbox.. oops, i mean xbox for games.."
i dunno call me crazy but seeing as how this is BLURAY.COM and all, the capacity for content of BD alone for games leans towards 'jus a lil' bit of a brighter future than 360 IMO(yes u detected sarcasm).
not to mention u guys are already waiting on 'Nextbox 720' seeing as how those SD DVDs your games come on store how much data?

besides that awesome pic that krakin headz posted is priceless.

so WHY NOT buy a PS3 as a BD player. that way when hexbox is dead, he'll still have a console than can handle new and upcoming game titles AS WELL AS BDs.

Get a stand alone player with profile 2.0 and your be much better off than having a lousy PS3 collecting dust. looking aweful and outdated with your system years from now.

Don't get a PS3 only to have it sit on your shelf to play blue rays. I guarantee if you get a stand alone player it will be connected to to TV much longer than a crapy PS3 will ever be.

STOP BEING BRAINWASHED BY SONY!!!!!

First off, I wish the 360 looked as sleek and sexy as the PS3. It has the best looks of any gaming console to date. The look that will never be outdated.

Second, if you are coming to a Blu-ray site, I suggest you at least spell the format right. Blu-ray. Go ahead, say it to yourself. Read each letter. Right it down if you have to, just in case your brain can not process it.

Third, I have had my PS3 connected to my television since January. It has gotten the same if not more time than my 360. That is playing games and watching Blu-ray movies. I only wish the 360 had the potential the PS3 has, Next year, everyone who owns a 360 and doesn't have a PS3 are going to be missing out on a great year of games, just like the ones who only have a PS3 and not a 360 did last year and the year before. The PS3 is going to come on strong next year and pass 360 up. Not opinion, it is a fact by the way.

You probably won't last long on here anyways, so there really is no need replying to you.

PS3 all the way. I have tried about 4-5 standalones as I have wanted to get a standalone for theater room and move ps3 to living room but the standalones always go back or are sold off since none of them have outpeformed the PS3. Some may have equaled it but none surpassed it so to me it wasn't worth it, espcially since the ps3 is lightning fast and easy to do firmware updates.

ps3 is still one of the best blu players out there if not the best. I have a 360 for games as well and my ps3 is usually just a blu player but alot of the exclusives are really good and fun i.e. Metal Gear, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted, Little Big Plantet. The ps3 is def a no brainer dude. get one you wont regret it. even if you never stick a game in it, its still got the best video and some damn good audio on it

Somethings I've come across on this forum since I joined almost two years ago.

When the Format wars where going on strong BLU supporters asked why won't you count the PS3 as a blu ray player.

Then the PS3 was considered the most future proof player on the market.

Now the same people who asked why the PS3 wasn't counted as the big pusher for Blu are saying hey why would I need and or want one. Its to over priced or the PQ and SQ suck. It doesn't look right with my other equipment, I can't use my awesome remote with it.

This forum is for every Blu ray supporter no matter what the player. Please don't regret your PS3 it has always performed. I know mine was never effected by not being able to play new movies ( like a few SA) it's never needed to have to worry about being to far away from my router to update. I can go on but we all know whats going to happen this will turn into a PS3 VS. SA slap fest.

Also, if bitstreaming and region-free mods matter to you (which it doesn't to most people) then get this player. This player also has a display and IR remote for easy Universal remote programming, which the PS3 doesn't have.

If you want an all-in-one system with games, hard drive, etc etc then get a PS3. And if you want the player that loads Blu-ray discs the quickest, get the PS3.

I have both systems and they are both great. It just depends on the features you're looking for between the PS3 and a stand-alone. Picture quality on both is equal... some reviews say the BD35 is better but I am not sure I believe that.

Simple answer is, if you're a gamer go with the PS3, if not go with the stand alone.
