It has now been confirmed that Joel Schumacher will be directing the next installment in the Dark Knight franchise. Schumacher has stated in the affirmative regarding endless rumors swirling around this project for months now are indeed true.

Schumacher's first priority in the Dark Knight has been a re-design of the The Batman's suit. "I wanted to create an exaggerated and anatomically correct imprint of the primary sexual organ on the new Bat suit. There will be a transition in colour from the commonly used flat black to a skin like hue and colour as well. I am also re-introducing the appearance of the nipples back on the breast plate for a more realistic appearance."

When inquired upon the completely new re-design over previous Bat suit incarnations, Director Schumacher's response was clear and decisive: "I think the public deserves an introduction to something new from time to time. Otherwise the formula and visuals begin to take on a stagnant experience."

E! news daily just broke the news that WB was disappointed with the results of the Box Office and Home Video sales, that they are disbanding the franchise and will replace the franchise with Hannah Montana movies that feature Miley Cyrus fighting crime by making them listen to her sing.
Ryan Seacrest was quoted as saying "this is the best move WB has ever made." Christian Bale said he was embarrassed by the direction that the Dark Knight took and is offering to give the money people spent on this film to help raise awareness that 1997's Batman & Robin is the best Batman movie ever.

DC comics also stated that they are shutting down production on all Batman related comics and will write the character out of every storyline.

actually, the latest ive heard is the chris nolan wants to step away from the camera and try acting himself. in a surprise move, he has fired the entire primary cast -- except morgan freeman -- and is going to be playing the role of every major player in the next movie. word of mouth is the academy will definitely be eying him for multiple oscars. nolan may have found his true calling. we'll just have to wait and see.

Christopher Nolan has vowed to make Batman 3 bigger and better than ever, with lots of marketing potential for toys.

As befitting all 3rd films in a trilogy, Batman 3 will have 3 dynamic and flamboyant villains, all played by larger-than-life actors.
As well, there will be new heroes to cheer for, including Robin and JLA buddy 'Snapper' Carr.
Expect a great song-and-dance number somewhere in the middle of the film, and plenty of comedic pratfalls.
The color scheme of the previous films were a tad bland, so expect lots of bright hues.
And gadgets! Oh yes, there will be gadgets...

After klling Colin Farrell, they all go back to Gotham City, only to realize it is not the Gotham City they knew at all. This one is owned by Biff and his huge casino/hotel. They decide to protect the buxom Lea Thompson and grab the Sports Almanac just in time to get into the train (that's also a time machine) and help Christopher Columbus find America one year earlier than he actually did, so that Gotham City will be back to normal. Once they get back to Gotham City, all is well until Eddie Murphy as the Riddler shows up with a double light sabre. Dolph Batman pushes him into a hole and the entire city stars cheering because Batman had returned and become King of Gotham. You think it's over when Batman becomes king, but we still have to learn about how many kids Tom Jane as the Punisher has. Rufus is finishing up his book about his adventures. He gives the book to the Ninja Turtles as the get on a boat to have a new adventure of their own. He misses his ring that made him invisible, but he's too old for adventures.

Just before credits roll, we see that this movie is dedicated to Heath Ledger. Also, we find out that it was loosely based on Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, which is odd because it wasn't a comedy.
